Re: ATL: Offseason
Yeah, that was pretty interesting.
That said, he either sucks or gets hurt and they are without a QB...in those cases they do get out from under themselves right away and don't take on a 3+ year burden of paying for him.
If not, they're paying him each year and it still is going to get in their way of signing guys, even if there is a "declining salary" in there.

He's not an elite passer (though he's getting better in some ways), and I don't think he's a consistently good decision maker. So, he could flame out in a Culpepper-esque fashion.
But I don't blame the 49ers for making this deal.
I think Kaepernick has made pretty impressive progress for a guy who in college was as much a running back as passer. He has great size, speed, a big arm, and room to grow on accuracy. He also seems to have good leadership qualities.
As for him potentially being injury prone because he runs a lot, i wouldn't be that concerned if i was running the 49ers. Watching him play, he's usually very smart about avoiding big hits. Most times i've seen him run, he'll say go out of bounds vs taking a hit once he has a first down. He often is quick to slide if he senses a big hit is coming. A guy like Vick got hurt often because he foolishly would take lots of hits even after he got enough yards. RG3 did the same his rookie year. Kaepernick and Russell Wilson though are both much smarter runners if you watch them. They understand that using their legs is a key part of what makes them good, but also that they have to be smart when doing so to avoid taking unnecessary hits whenever possible.

That's a great deal for the 49ers. I'd even go so far to say that it is an absurdly good deal.

"Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is expected to skip the mandatory team minicamp next week because he wants a contract extension, sources confirmed Wednesday night."

Re: ATL: Offseason
I predicted early last season that they would cut Lynch and just roll with Christine Michael. I know Lynch is a fan favorite, but it might be the smart move.

I'm expecting Lynch to get hurt at some point this year. He's gotten so many carries the last few years (285, 315, 301 plus the playoffs). Hopefully Seattle caves and does extend him.

Re: ATL: Offseason
they should just change the name already. I'm not usually on the side of the PC police but if you know the origins of the redskins term it's definitely offensive.emunney wrote:U.S. Patent office has canceled 6 federal trademarks for the name "Washington Redskins".

Re: ATL: Offseason
The abuse of power and mob mentality involved in this Redskins case is extremely disturbing. This is a really dangerous precedent being set by the government and specifically the U.S. Patent Office.

JerMichael Finley's wife tweets:
Who knows anything abt Atlanta? I need you!
and

@CourtFinley88
Is it legal to raffle your home off? I think that may be the most viable option I have for our home in GB. But kind of seriously tho.

WTF is his wife talking about in regards to that raffle. Between Jermike and his wife, I don't think there's a whole lot of intelligence in that family. Almost feel bad for their kid(s).
But I guess it sounds like he's going to Atlanta. They'd be the first team to clear him, correct?

I'm assuming that they paid more and are underwater on the value of their house plus a large/expensive house has a smaller subset of buyers compared to your run of the mill house.
I'm not sure you can legally do that because the state views raffles as a form of gambling and while they do make exceptions for charities/non-profits and stuff they typically don't allow just anyone to run one.
Beyond that if they were allowed to run a raffle they could obviously sign the deed of the property over to a buyer for whatever value they wanted and I'm sure the IRS would want their cut of the tax money it should generate.
It is an interesting question to ask imo I didn't think it was that dumb

Re: ATL: Offseason
I highly doubt she thought it out as well as you did in your post and the fact that she took a legal question to twitter is proof enough that she's dumb.
