That scenario is not that farfetched with Stevens as coach and a team with lots of depth. Wallace is good off the bench and Bass would still be on the team.

Not if we are trading Rondo for 1985 Larry Bird

Clearly the answer is to trade everyone on the roster for a 1st round pick and go into next year with a team full of untapped potential.
Surely potential will lead us to an NBA championship.

No disrespect, but I stopped reading here. Jk, mang.
As I scrolled past your mountain of noise, I did indeed glance you calling the #6 pick "unequivocally" more valuable than Chandler Parsons. False. Also noticed you completely misinterpret 90% of the things I said (McLemore being arguably more valuable than any SINGLE piece we could offer beyond the #6 pick does not mean that Mclemore > everything we have to offer combined)
Honestly, FingerRoll... you don't really know what you are talking about, and I'd rather not waste my time arguing with you. Thanks anyways.
I too hope that Boston ends up having the best offer... but it's not at all definitive. If it was definitive, the deal would be done already. You're possibly setting yourself up for disappointment.

To me Flip saying Boston didnt have anything to do with Loves visit means that they are close to a deal. he doesnt want any sort of tampering involved with the team.
Makes sense.

He sent kevin love a tweet saying he was in minnesota and that it sucked, and no wonder he's trying to get out of there.
No idea if he's actually Ainge's son, but whoever he is, the kid's a tool.

Re: Love in town to "see what it's like"
Potential Celtics roster next year.
PG/combo guard -- Smart(immediate impact on D and potentially good scoring -- not perimeter shooting -- as a rookie)/Bayless/Pressey / perhaps sharp shooter with #17 pick
SG-- Bradley/Bayless/perhaps sharp shooter with #17 pick
Green/Wallace/Gordon (I think he could contribute in year 1 with his defense/fast break game)
Sullinger/Olynyk/Bass/
Asik/Sullinger/Fav
38 wins made the playoffs in the EC the past two years and 35 wins the year before that.
I'm wrong for thinking the Celtics addressing their biggest problem(rim protection) couldn't get to the 35-38 win level with reasonable health and 2 of the 3 picks contributing. And I'm supposed to be the negative poster?
The team I've outlined above has a great chance to be much better then what the Celtics started the season. And last years team was on a 30+ win pace for a while without Rondo.
And if the Celtics think their veteran PG situation needs to be better then giving Smart the job after only being a sophomore in college, they can pick someone up a PG for 2-4 million as a holdover. Or possibly trade someone like Bass if Gordon is better then expected for a PG/combo guard that is expiring.
I never said in my above post that the Celtics would win a playoff round - I highly doubt they would -- but just making the playoffs with such a team in the EC would be a significant success given all of the Celtics remaining pick, cap space, young players and a 2015 draft class that might not be the best.
If Kevin Love is traded to Chicago and the Bulls win 45-48 games but Rose blows out his knee again and Chicago loss in the first round again, it might not be too farfetched for him to bolt to the Celtics for free.
In fact, I like the Celtics signing Love via FA more then trade for one reason independent of not having to give up assets besides cap room. It allows Love to prove to the Celtics that he is more about winning then getting every last dollar. 4 year max contract from the Celtics is still less then a 5 year max seal from the Wolves or another team.

Ha Ha. Posturing at its best. This leads to believe that a deal is close between the Celtics and Wolves and Flip is trying to save face before agreeing to trade him to us. Love is coming to Boston. This reminds me of the Kg deal to T. Posture, deny and Posture, then come to terms on a deal.

Casper is schooling this clowns. Felger and Mazz need to watch more basketball because they don't know what they are talking about. He is right. Mazz said that he doesn't want Melo here because Rondo would want the offense ran through him.
