WOW. Reports of Lampard leaving Chelsea for New York. It was in a way inevitable but, damn, it's hard to imagine Lampard playing for another team. I guess I always thought that he would retire as a Chelsea player.

yeah, tough situation with lamps being out of contract. the rumors all year had us offering him another 1 year contract, but now it seems less likely. to be honest, lamps really isnt good enough any more to play more than a handful of games for chelsea, mostly cups and games vs lower level teams. you cant really get away with playing him vs the really good teams in europe. playing him in those easy games really takes away minutes from some of our young midfielders that really need the minutes. on the other hand, he is a club legend. but if he wants to keep playing big minutes, then a move to MLS seems like a good spot.

weird wrinkle to the NYCFC rumor - they dont begin play until spring 2015. lamps is out of contract with chelsea this summer. what the hell would he do from the end of the world cup until the following spring?

have you seen any of the other 30 for 30 soccer docs? The sudden amount of them is kind of overwhelming but I guess that I do want to see them all as I have done with the all the other 30 for 30s.

i have the rest of them on my DVR waiting to be watched. although they were recorded from ESPN classic, in standard def, with an annoying ticker scroll on the bottom.

Yeah, the game starts on June 8th.

Let's see if we can get a solid league together.

BTW: Be sure to not select Marco Reus for your team, cause he just got injured last night and most likely won't make it to the world cup.
So now we'll have to play without our best offensive player.

It's about at the 1:30 minute mark. Also, Miroslav Klose scored his 69th goal for Germany, becoming the all time leading scorer for the national team. He's now got one goal more then Gerd Müller. Though, Klose needed 132 games for that, while Müller scored 68 goals and only played 62 times for Germany.

I've been sucked into the Off Topic forum World Cup Bandwagoner league.

We are all randomly allocated a team to support and have to trash talk all other teams, like we've been following them all our lives. I got given England.

I know absolutely nothing about soccer, so I'm having to reply on stereotypes and racism for my trash talk.

Well, we're without Reus for the world cup and Löw's playing four centre backs in the back line.

Anyway's the team arrived in camp today and had to take a boat for the last part of the trip.

Also, one will be able to select his team on that fantasy game in an hour or so. Maybe we should try and ask for some more people to join on the soccer forums?

just keep bragging about steven gerrard and frank lampard, like they are still in their mid 20s. then grossly overrate every single english player who is younger than 25 and refer to them as the english messi. also, under no circumstances should you admit that wayne rooney was ever bald. his hair is real and glorious. when all else fails you can make fun of all the other countries for being notorious divers.

Have any of you been able to start selecting your squad?

When I try it still says you'll be able to do so in over an hour, just like four hours ago. :eek1:
