I don't get the LeBron hype...

Post#1 » by disenfranchised » Sat Jun 7, 2014 7:40 pm

Yes, Bron is a physical specimen the game has never seen before. The combination of speed, strength, and agility is absolutely jaw dropping at times. However, I don't see all the other tools needed to be a top 10 all time player. The skill level, IMO, is extremely lacking. The NBA has basically made guarding perimeter players nearly impossible, especially Bron. Bron is literally allowed to run through defenders and somehow get the foul call to go his way. The only reason he shoots a good percentage from 3 these days is because defenders literally give him 5 feet of wide open space due to the rule changes. His post game has been a weakness since he entered the league, simply because he's literally an athlete playing basketball and doesn't possess a ton of basketball skill, but I will admit he has improved in that area.

The numbers with Bron are greatly skewed because he protects his percentages. He literally will stop shooting if he thinks it will hurt his percentages. I have seen him countless times literally run from the ball when the quarter is about to end or the shot clock is winding down. Even when the clock isn't running down, he will defer to the point of hurting his team because he is so afraid to see his percentages drop. He pads his stats against weaker opponents and plays heavy minutes in games that are already decided. The sad thing is, the masses don't see it and they claim he is a GOAT candidate because all they see are the numbers. The numbers are lies, especially in Bron's case. Alpha players are in the flow of the game and they keep shooting, regardless of how bad it may make them look.

IMO, Bron can never enter my top 10. The 2011 finals sealed the deal for me. He has ran from the moment too many times in his career to be considered an alpha male. He colluded to chase titles in his prime. The precedent he set with the collusion completely and utterly tarnished his legacy. You don't form a super team in your prime if you want to be a GOAT. He had help, but people diminish his help to serve their agenda. Players like Danny Green and Shannon Brown were meaningless in Cleveland, yet they somehow helped LA win back to back titles and helped SA make two straight finals. (Green could've won FMVP last year) Bron once again, last year in game 6, almost blew a finals series in the last minutes. It took a Ray Allen 3 to save what was left of his legacy. Miami is the most stacked team in NBA history, relative to each era and the talent level of each era, IMO.

He is not what he is portrayed and is not top 10 material, IMO.

Outstanding parody of Lebron haters. Just spot on.

That's what that is, right?

The "hate" comes from people propping him up as some type of GOAT material. You call it hate, I call it frustration and shock that people don't see him for what he truly is.

Jordan was a much more skilled player obviously. James relies much more on his strength and athleticism. He's a terribly boring player half the time.

If you don't get the LeBron hype, I'm pretty sure you must not get basketball in general.

the fact you are a Bulls fan doesn't help the fact people won't take this thread seriously.

just saying...

What? Go watch the 62 pt game for a prime example of how good this guy can be at just shooting the ball, fadeaways post jumpers, long fadeaway 20 foot jumpers and heck even sideways fadeaway three pointers that VERY few in the world can hit.., The guy can pass perfectly out of a double team, perfectly out of a pick and roll, defend 1-5 with a few expections... he has an absurd body control that lets him finish through contact, hits floaters, different layup variations + advanced finishing.. great handles for his size.. there is more to LeBron James than his physique, that's why he is entering top 5 all time discussions this early in his career. Come on bro, hater goggles off.

I'm a Noah and Jimmer fan, not a Bulls fan. If they were to leave, i'd stop pulling for them.

It's alright to not like LBJ you know. But he is a generational player no matter how you slice it. The fact that you're trying to make claims and reasons why he's not great is a product of that fact. Just say you don't like LBJ, but don't make up a bunch of lies and try to force your biased opinion as fact, that makes you look foolish. He's going to be up there with the GOATs when it's all said and done. Just let it go. Worry about players you like. It's much easier that way.

There are tons of players that can get hot and drop a lot of points. Brewer and Ross dropped 50+ just this past season.

We all know Bron can't consistently make outside shots and if he does, it's because no one is even remotely close to him due to the rule changes and his weakness.

I agree that he's far less exciting to watch than Jordan, but he's just as effective if not more.

Why does he need a break? People are claiming he is better than Bird, Hakeem, Magic, Kobe, etc. He, himself, claims to be a top 4 player of all time.

It simply isn't true.
