Danny torched Wade in games 1-3 but then Wade shut down Green in games 4-7. Thought he would have learned his lesson by not allowing Green to get even a slither of confidence.jona187 wrote:ThereIsNoSpork wrote:thinktellectual wrote:Have you seen Wade's D in the 4th ?
Neither have I, cause it was **** missing.
Not to mention how the offense just ground to a halt and turned into 100% ISO ball. No more movement, no picks, no cuts, NOTHING !!!! You can't win like that against a good team.
Not just D.. his O too. I think he had 2 points in the 4th. Thats pretty bad for a player of Wades caliber in a game where LeBron is sitting the majority of the 4th. If LeBron pulled that off with Wade sitting down the stretch he would be crucified beyond belief. Especially if he was leaving Danny Green wide open for multiple 3s in the process
DWade's Matador defense has been on display for the last 3 years. I have always complained that he can not guard a three point shooter who runs around in screens. He just won't waste the energy. Unfortunately, he is going to have a hard time this series with Danny Green. He allowed Danny Green to get off last year and this year will be no different. I guess he was conserving his energy for offense, but he fell in love with his J too much which wasn't dropping.

Really? I don't know where you live, but the Heat hate in our world is beyond ridiciolous. If we lose in this finals, NBA gets a ton of new fans next year. Not to mention how many views ESPN and all other media companies will get for all the Heat-lost-LeBron-failed related articles.

Completely agree that Heat hate is high. But I don't think most people will buy a SA t-shirt because the Heat lose. I also don't think your average fan that hates the Heat, hates them enough to get a T-shirt making fun of them losing 1 out 3 years in the finals either. I think a lot more products and in general more $ will be made with a 3-peat by far. But... who knows. Haters gonna hate.

I didn't say they will become spurs fans. I said they will become NBA fans and they will buy T-shirts from their favourite teams. But spurs fansbase will probably double, at least for two weeks after finals.

I agree Spurs fanbase would double for a very very short term. But I don't see how this would benefit the NBA financially or in any other way. I guess our difference of opinion stems from the thought that you think ultimately a higher fanbase will be created because the Heat lose in the finals after winning the last two and reaching the finals again. I guess we just have to agree to disagree. I think if it was a team that was exciting and new and young, you would have an argument. But SA is old, boring, and not exciting. If it was Clippers or Thunder or etc, I think you would have a point. I agree to disagree, no worries.

I know over 10 people who said they will start watching NBA again when the Heat stop winning championships.

I live in LA lol the HEAT hate is high well just lebron because he's a threat to everyone's precious KOBE. So if the finals was spurs pacers there would be more people watching, becoming nba fans again? Yea right.

He was a threat to kobe in 2009. We're well past that now.
I'm not saying new people would be watching because of the quality of basketball.

They aren't. And I doubt I just happen to know the *only* 10 people who hate our team so much that they rather not follow the NBA while we are winning.

I think you are over-thinking this. NBA is in a win-win position with these Finals.
If the Spurs win you will get more casual fans tuning in and buying some Spurs' gear. More interest in the NBA with "Heat are down, what's next?"
If we win, more interest in the league as well and they still sell a lot of merchandise, more global interest with a 3peat. LeBron/Heat become even bigger global commodities.

Guess you're right. But I still think us losing brings more upside though.

Even a call that had 99% chance of going the Heat's way, went the way of San Antonio instead.
And who was that ref that kept overturning every call that went in Miami's favor? Kenny Mauer?
And we STILL should've won.
None of these teams can hold a candle compared to us and tonight just proves it.

You are an idiot. The refs rigged the 2013 finals in the Spurs favor. The heat last finals got fewer FTs than any NBA team in history for a 7 game series.
How is opposite world working for you?
Btw the NBA rigged it for Jordan year after year. Even his famous Jazz buzzer beater was an offensive foul yet no one dare talks about it.
