Re: Official #2 Pick Thread pt. II - New Poll
If we're talking about complimenting Giannis....
It appears opinion about Parker has been shifting to him becoming a full time PF based on how he has measured out.
Wiggins seems most likely to do best as a SF, but Chad Ford's recent scouting report left me hopeful that he could still do well as a SG since his shot and handle aren't so bad to be "fatal flaws."

Yes, sometimes to support one's point anywhere it requires a lengthy response. Me making a claim by itself doesn't often mean much here, and prompts the opposite complaint.
And you did confirm my belief by stating you just wanted a game changer, and think that's Wiggins rather than Parker. But we were talking about fit. That's a different discussion altogether.

Can't see how people think Parker is the best fit with Giannis. Both need the ball in their hands to be effective at this point. Wiggins is a better fit running off screens and in transition. From what I've seen, Parker's off the ball game is pretty bleh other than offensive put backs.

Not sure about that, Parker is pretty nasty in that sense.
I've made the argument, but I believe Wiggins/Giannis is a better fit then Giannis/Parker as well.

Re: Official #2 Pick Thread pt. II - New Poll
What do people who have Parker and Wiggins interchangeable in their rankings have to say on the matter? Because we're hearing from Wiggins and Parker supporters.
I think Luke has them around tied, maybe even with Wiggins a little ahead, but he has talked about how well Parker/Giannis/Sanders fit together more than once. So I would think from that he believes, fit-wise, Parker is better here.

Re: Official #2 Pick Thread pt. II - New Poll
I see Giannis being a small forward. He doesn't have the foot speed to guard most shooting guards. Wiggins can most definitely guard shooting guards even if he might not truly be a "shooting guard" on offense. So you could easily list Giannis as SF and Wiggins as SG and they could both play together.
I haven't seen it been asked really, but do you guys think (if Wiggins filled out his frame and got up to 220ish) he could guard most power forwards? Simply due to his fantastic athleticism I think it could work somewhat like Dennis Rodman.
I guess I'm just thinking ahead and wondering if a line up of Wolters, Knight, Giannis, Wiggins, Sanders/Henson could work. Because that looks like an incredible defensive unit to me.
I do hope that the Bucks trade Knight for a pick/young prospect though, it would make Wiggins' fit into the Bucks line up much easier as far as maximizing talent.
If we could swap Knight and maybe Ersan or Henson for a great PF/C prospect like Nurkic, Saric, Vonleh, or Gordon, we would have a serious core going forward with threats in the front and back court.
Something like Wolters, Wiggins, Giannis, Saric, Sanders would be fantastic.
You have 3 "all-around" guys who can distribute, score, and play D in Wolters, Giannis, and Saric.
A defensive specialist/rebounder in Sanders
And hopefully a 25+ PPG scorer in Wiggins (with elite defense)
They're all under 25 and would be able to grow into a formidable force together over the course of the next 3-5 years.

Judging from this and your other recent posts about Parker, you haven't really watched him play.

I'm convinced whoever goes first after the Bucks pick will have the best career.

Re: Official #2 Pick Thread pt. II - New Poll
I'm not concerned about position fit so much, as positions are becoming more irrelevant every year, but style of play. I just think Parker and Giannis are too similar. If Parker played more of a stretch forward (which he could potentially do and excel at) it wouldn't be bad, but seems like a waste.
My ideal scenario is walking away with Wiggins and trading Knight and Henson for Saric. If that can't be done, I target Payne.
Sanders
Saric or Payne
Giannis
Wiggins
Wolters
With a good shot at Manny Mudiay next season is pretty damn exciting.

Ha! I pretty much watched only Duke and Kansas games this year.
Not saying Parker couldn't develop that skill, but he certainly wasn't asked to do it much as he was pretty much the point for Duke, or posted up.

The only place I'm worried Parker fits is defensively. Jake I really wouldn't worry too much about him as an offensive fit.

If Parker is the guy I just hope people are content with more of Giannis being used like Drew used him.

I think that depends a lot more on who is getting 30+ minutes at point guard.

Come on, not one person who has watched Parker play has come close to saying he is pretty bleh when playing off the ball. He was damn good running off screens executing the catch and shoot, backdoor cut, flash post up and putting the ball on the floor beating the help defense to the rim. His midrange game is part of what sets him apart offensively from Wiggins.

And how much Giannis develops. He had some massive holes in his game as a rookie.

Re: Official #2 Pick Thread pt. II - New Poll
I'm honestly not giving any thought to who fits better with Giannis. Just get the best player, worry about that later. Plus, we don't even know how Giannis will pan out. It's certainly not time to start influencing draft decisions based on him.
That being said, I'd really be happy with either. I have them pretty much exactly equal on my board, and since my opinion on Wiggins/Parker changes every day, I think that's a good enough sign that either of them would work well in my books.

Re: Official #2 Pick Thread pt. II - New Poll
I find myself vacillating back and forth between Wiggins and Parker all the time.
What might throw this whole thing for a loop though is if the Cavs do not trade the pick and go with whichever of those two they think is best available.
Fortunately for us, if there were any team to pass on the next Patrick Ewing because they want to make the playoffs next season and entice Kyrie Irving to sign a max extension, it looks like it'd be the mess of a franchise they've got going on in Cleveland these days.

To cap it off, we'll later find out that said player was John Hammond's pick but the owners vetoed it for their own preference.
