Swayed after the meet and greet. The owners are getting the last call on the pick. Doesn't look as if Hammond will get his man.

But what's the alternative? Silence? Gardner is useless for providing any inside info. The only one who knew what the hell was going on in the last couple of months was Bill Simmons, and I don't think he's going to feed us trade rumors.

Gery is a hack, no lie... but at least he gives us something to talk about. Sometimes it's better to talk about unicorns and Santa Claus than nothing at all.

Someone would replace him and Matt Velazquez could prove to be a better insider at the MJS once he's been around writing for a longer time (re: Gardner).

Someone would replace him, but are we expecting the Racine Journal to get insider info on the Bucks? Gery has been around awhile and that's why we get at least some of the nuggets we do. I don't disagree with Velaquez potentially stepping up, but he certainly has no sources right now. Don't discredit the necessity for sources to have insider knowledge. Sources require time. If we want someone else from Racine to step up, surely they would be throwing as much **** at the wall as Gery does.

I'd rather have no inside info than Woelfel spouting off nonsense that caters to his own delusional agenda.

I don't care about him throwing things out there that could or couldn't be true. I despise his lousy basketball opinions and the agenda that he pedals.

Bingo. People hear "insider" and they take him seriously, laymen (w/ re: to following the Bucks). This is how such delusional opinions can be begin making the rounds as facts, re: particular players and how the Bucks should handle them.

I guess we're on the same page. I'd prefer to have something to talk about, though. Nobody else covers the Bucks in a meaningful way. If it's me talking about a b.s. rumor about Ersan getting traded... it at least gives me something to talk about.

Hammond was mad at Mary Schmitt-Boyer in 2011 for reporting that Jennings' name came up in a few conversations around the league. I have liked her ever since. "I've known Mary a long time..totally irresponsible for her to report that".

Hey doofus, totally irresponsible is the title of your GMing biography.

New DX mock up, has Cavs going Embiid and Bucks taking Jabari.

:banghead:

What makes this pick even more damning, is Philly will get their player at 3 and still have another top 10 pick. I wish we could move back to 3 and pick up 10 for 2 but that would never happen.

The thing with Woelfel is that he does hear a few things which is nice. If he would leave it at that he would be fine.

Instead he throws in his own flavor of how he feels about each player. If he hates that said player he over and over runs them threw the mud and tries to make trades up on his own. Or he will fall in love with anther teams player and say the "Bucks" are trying hard to deal for his guy.

I wonder if we have him a notch above Parker / Wiggins.

I could see the Cavs taking #2 and Sanders for #1. They get their starting center and possibly the next big thing in Wiggins or Parker.

This exactly is what it will take to get it done.

If we really truly want Parker (which I am fine with) we should try and trade back to 3 and get something else from Philly. No way they are dumb enough to do 3 and 10 for 2. Maybe Ersan and 2 for 3, 10 and a contract they want to bail on (are there any)?
The Bulls are the absolute worst.

I'm not sure I see the value in this. Wouldn't it be more prudent to take Wiggins or Parker at 2 and then trade Sanders in the 5-8 spot to pair them with someone like Gordon, Randle, or possibly even Exum?

i guess I just don't think Embiid is THAT much better than Wiggins or Parker and if that trade did occur, Cleveland would come away with a top rim protector and a blue chip prospect just to move down one spot. Seems pretty steep to me.

I'm just saying this is the minimum that it is going to take for the cavs to give up Embiid.

Its all about how the Bucks grade out the top three. Who they think the franchise player is. If they think Embiid is a top 3 player in this league and the other two are not. You give up whatever you have to to get your Lebron/Durant kind of guy. There are not many of them out there.

This looks like a weak draft at the 1-3 spots to me. Take my opinion with a grain of salt because I didn't watch any games this year. But after watching all the highlights I could find, I'm not blown away by the skill sets of Parker/Wiggins.

Wiggins especially makes me imagine the debate 3 years from now - "do we give him a max deal to keep him even though we all know he isn't a franchise player." He'll be a good enough scorer to land a huge second contract, but with that iffy handle, I can't see him putting up 20+ points on high efficiency. Will his athleticism allow him to be an elite defender? I haven't seen it in clips so far, but hopefully somebody can assure me that this guy can guard NBA 2s and 3s? If not, he's just Carmelo Anthony without a handle and a flatter jumper.

I like Parker's game but he looks like a slow SF or a small PF. I think I'd still take him over Wiggins because neither guy looks like a "#1 player on a good team" to me, but I can more easily imagine Parker being a great "2nd best player on a good team." Sort of like Antoine Walker with brains, which could be a great package.

Too bad Exum hasn't been tested against elite competition. He looks godly in footage slashing past slow Australian kids who wouldn't make an NCAA roster. Will he look like that against Derrick Rose and John Wall? I would definitely want a workout to see him against some quicker taller defenders, but even then you aren't simulating 5v5 game situations.

We probably need another year in the lottery no matter who we pick. I'm voting Parker in this poll but will be ok with any of the 3.

Simply put yes, you give him his first max contract. Because it's only the 10-13 million dollar max that he will be getting. The CBA has that set up pretty sweet in that regard. We get 7 years of low salary to see if these guys hit their potential.
