Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
Not that it would really help, but the offside call on Issey for Montreal was just laughable.
Not even close to offside.

Plata another hamstring injury, crap.
Good to see Robbie Findley back in action. we need any kind of offense he can give us.

Congratulations to Donovan for breaking the MLS goal record. I think everyone saw that statement game from a mile away.

Costa Rica's Alvaro Saborio suffers foot fracture, will miss 3-4 months
Bad news for Costa Rica -- and Real Salt Lake -- on Thursday, as forward Alvaro Saborio suffered a foot injury during a closed-door training session.
The Costa Rican Football Federation confirmed during a press conference on Thursday that Saborio "broke his fifth metatarsal bone" in his left foot, according to team doctor Alejandro Ramirez. A report from Teletica.com said he will be out of action for three months. As a result of the injury, Saborio will not participate in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, which would have been the second of the RSL striker's career.
"After analyzing the doctors' opinion and talking with the player, we have to face the reality," said Costa Rica head coach Jorge Luis Pinto during the press conference. "Álvaro will not play at the World Cup. We hope he recovers on time to travel with us to Brazil. It really hurts, because he's an extraordinary man."

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
gutted for him. I'm so upset that this **** happens every single time he has an extended stay with the Costa Rican NT. His leg injuries from last year all happened during WC call ups.
Our forwards are just taking a beating this year. I think going into the Seattle game this weekend, our only healthy striker is Olmes Garcia.

big loss in Sabo.
I'm not a big fan of Garcia would rather see them move Luke Mullholand to forward.
Garcia just hasn't been productive, no goals yet this season.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
Ive had well over 24 hours to think about our 4-0 loss to the sounders. All I can really say is **** we miss Kyle Beckerman. A decent striker would be nice too. Also, Salcedo over Maund if Schuler can't play. Maund has never impressed me while Salcedo has always struck me as MLS Starter material. Maund screwed up too many times last night, 3 of those screw ups resulted to Sounder goals. Having Beckerman back would be great on it own, though.

cant believe Villa decided to come to the MLS. He still had some good years left in him playing in Europe. Hopefully this helps the MLS become better known.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;

The Timbers have traded away longtime center back Futty Danso and have also offered a contract to Joleon Lescott. I REALLY REALLY hope Lescott comes to MLS but don't think he's declined to the point where it's an option for him.

Ibrahimovic to MLS?
http://www.espnfc.com/paris-saint-germa ... mls-switch
RSL picked up the draw yesterday, I was hoping for a win after that Seattle game but another late game letdown was in the bag. Scoring goals is a problem it looks like something we won't fix anytime soon.

"I will really think about it because I find it very interesting to come over to America because my friend Thierry Henry is playing there and he's doing fantastic there, and he talks a lot of positive about the Major League Soccer, so it's an interesting thing if the opportunity is still there in two to three years."

I can't believe Vancouver let their 2 goal lead fade away.
They looked like the much better team in the first half, then Philadelphia came back and dominated the second.
Ended as a very fun 3-3 tie.

He was saying he wanted to play for Celtic a couple of years back, wouldn't read too much into it.

So now that we are into the World Cup break, which teams do you feel are contenders and which teams are pretenders?

Our stadium is going to be phenomenal:

$110 million well spent when it's done in less than 2 years.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
I'm actually not that thrilled about the design.
I bet it will look great when it's done, but MLS needs to look to the future are start building bigger and better stadiums. Toronto for example has already outgrown their stadium, and by the looks of this Orlando will not be far behind.
