What About Next Year??

Post#1 » by HurricaneKid » Tue Jun 10, 2014 7:58 pm

I know this is a LITTLE premature but if this is the end I want to know it. I really do think the support staff of the team is going to have enormous impact on the decisions of LeBron and Bosh moving forward (I assume Wade will opt in to the last two years at >20M/ and UD will take his 4.6M option).

Battier is set to walk into the sunset.

Ray Allen was expected to as well, though he might have one more season in him.

Rio is a UFA. Has Cole proven he can take over the reigns? What is Rio going to demand? Could he price himself out of Miami (after being the whipping boy all these years)?

Did Lewis play his way into a bigger contract elsewhere with his stretch 4 postseason play? Is his career winding down as well? He has Scrooge McDuck piles of gold after that 118M contract before he came to Mia...

The Heat are certain to have two players back- Birdman and Cole. Isn't that scary to anyone else? What magic is Riles going to unveil this offseason?

After the last four years it would be hard to complain if we ended up at the bottom again. But that's how we got Wade, and well the rest is history.

Just enjoy the moment now, because you are correct it won't last forever. Doesn't mean we should be spending time right now worrying about something we can't control anyways.

I would view the series differently if I knew it would all be over when its done. I mean I'm already on edge but it would lead to some hyperventilating. At the least.

Well I trust in Riles.

You would think this was the Bulls board with the amount of off-season discussion going on right now.

People, its the goddamn finals. Worry about the off season when it gets here.

I'd fire Spoelstra for his decision to play Chalmers in this third quarter alone. It has killed our chance at a comeback. Single handedly.

All those wide open misses and can't stay in front of Patty **** Mills.

wade needs to learn how to shoot 3's

spo needs to cultivate his bench instead of expecting bron to do it all

if this doesnt happen the dynasty is over

I don't think LeBron is leaving even if we lose the Finals. That said, we have to get MUCH better than we're now.

I don't think LeBron (and certainly not DWade or Bosh) is leaving, but, I definitely think there should be some concern because, if the core can't do it this year, do you really want to commit to it for another 4-5 years in all 3 where every other team is getting better while the Heat are staying the same? Even if all 3 opt-in for another year, do you then fill the roster with only 1 yr role players so you have flexibility in case any of the big 3 walk next yr? Then you're back to the treadmill team like in 10-11 who might get it done, but, aren't clear favorites like the last couple of years.

Building around LeBron is a no-brainer, and, it's pretty clear Bosh is there for another year, but, what do you do with Wade? With all he's done for the franchise, you have to be loyal, but, what if he still wants superstar or near max money for 4-5 yrs with a role that no doubt will get smaller and smaller as it progresses?

If there was no cap, he deserves every penny he could get from Mickey, but, when he's taking up 25-30% of the available cap, things get trickier.

Convince Melo to come, have Nosh and Bron think they will sign Wade and at the last minute get Melo.
Send Wade packing...

The amount of ill faith on this board is disgusting, no wonder people say we have the worst fans in the NBA because we really do!

He certainly doesn't help us defensively so I agree.

They'll be plenty of time to discuss free agency speculation et al during the off-season. Let's wait to discuss it till then.
