it's simple, have you ever seen this guy play? or done any research about him? the only thing that was impressive about him was his age and measureables and those are poor reasons in and of themselves to draft a player over another, especially as high as 4 in a strong draft.

I have no idea and I don't care. I'm into stats but I go to them when I need more info. I don't need it for Vonleh. He is ALL potential and a huge gamble. I'm not saying he can't be great but damn, I just don't see it. He will probably be a solid starter but a solid starter is not what we tanked for. Go big or go home. Swing for that star. Vonleh has to have the least star potential of the top 7.

This guy is a second rounder without that combine.

meh, i'm not against it if we're doing other things to try and trade back up.

but vonleh is probably about as raw and project as exum, but if you think he's the next serge ibaka maybe he's the right pick.

i'm not worried about any mock drafts til we get to the final week
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Amen he was always gonna go 8-15 in my book combine did help alot though. I am kinda getting tired of this Orlwillbeback just spilling stupid comments. Its not like we know so much about Exum honestly they are equal risks in my book.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

And his Character, motor, work ethic, attitude... you know those things that separate between those who realize their potential and those who dont.

Oladipo didnt look nearly as good after his freshman year but he has a similar character and measurments advantage that helped him become a great prospect.

In the end, Denver just couldn't pass on Tskitishvili's upside. Some have predicted that he's three years away. I don't think so. We said the same thing about Pau Gasol last year. He's so sound fundamentally, I think he'll be just fine at small forward. Eventually, he'll put on weight and muscle and turn into a devastating four. In five years, he may be the Kevin Garnett of this draft.

Tskitishvili was out of the league in 4 years.

We should sign this kid, its been 12 years, he'd probably be like Kareem now.

Looks like an article just trying to get views/hits.

Orlando at #4 is probably the easiest pick to ever predict. Its either Exum or Smart (which will become clearer with more workouts and time) or one of the big 3 if the top 3 dont draft. Easy way to drive up views is to write another article which is "look at this, I am predicting something CCCCCRAZY".

When you finish your PhD in mathematics come talk to me. I can share some of my publications with you.

I'm sorry but I don't agree with much of anything you've posted in this thread. From your "interesting 2015 SF FA names" (Kenneth Farid wtf? Lol @ both Greens) to your expert analysis on Tobias (watch the games. Dudes a baller and a class act) and finally your "cute" PhD and mathematics publication's. Honestly, you need to tone down a notch champ.

Maybe I've just been away from this board for too long but this isn't the way we used to do things around here.

I know it's a highlight but man i can't see how anyone can look at some of that and say yeah he has no potential, not saying any of you think that way but to me it's Blatant imo

Was that in slow motion?

Here's one for you. I think it's very fair on both sides.

Man, people are really doing a number on vonleh. Basically trying to turn his strengths into weaknesses. As a prospect he's not any different than exum all about upside with those two.

Maybe we could trade back for vonleh? I'm not sure. But I would love for us to get Payton he can pretty much everything apart from shoot and apparanlty his shot is getting better.

Seriously everyone acts like they have been personally scouting Vonelh since day 1. I trust our front office and especially Hennigan, he has ONLY shown us that he has an eye for talent and could pull something out of nothing.

People saying they will "jump off the Hennigan train" if we draft Vonelh at 4 is absolutely embarrassing and should just jump off the Orlando Magic as a whole.

If we draft him I fully believe Hennigan has done his due diligence and full research on him and believes he is the best prospect over whoever is left. Maybe we want to tank another year to have a shot at Emmanuel Mudiay? Maybe we have an eye on a big FA? Maybe Exum is NOT what everyone thinks of him? In reality we don't know ANYTHING.

Trust in our scouting department trust in our GM and trust in our team and be happy with whoever we draft, easy as that.

I lurk from time to time. I've made a purposeful effort to not spend much time on the board(s). I appreciate it though. I'll stop by once a week or once every other just to read. Board is 10x as active as it was in the heyday but somehow it still seems dead, not as much as energy as we had back when.

Vonleh is a really interesting prospect but to me, he's a Jason Thompson at best prospect. MAYBE a little Jon Bender mixed in there if he continues to progress physically. I'd take him later on but definitely not #4 UNLESS there's a deal out there or Henny and the crew know the upside better. Trust in Henny.

Vonleh is probably my least favorite prospect and wouldn't be excited if we drafted him. However, I trust our management fully and would support whatever outcome we get.

I love him and out of all the big men in this draft he fits the most with Vuc, however I will throw something at my TV if we draft him that high. If we trade 12 + Afflalo for a pick that can get him, I would be fine with that.
