I got in. The link to it wasn't working earlier but it let me in now. How do we set up a league?

Have any of you been able to start selecting your squad?

When I try it still says you'll be able to do so in over an hour, just like four hours ago. :eek1:

I waited out the countdown and then it reset to 1.5 hours.

Selected my team. Nothing great or too creative.

I also created a league called RealGM Cup Challenge

whats your strategy? pick high priced starters and fill out all of your bench with $1 dollar guys who you know will be glued to the bench for a bad team. Or try to build at least a little depth by having more mid-priced guys so that you can have 2-3 decent guys on your bench in case of injury or squad rotation?

I joined the league Det. Very easy to do. Thanks for setting it up.

I'll post something over on the soccer board as well, unless someone beat us to it.

Well, I've got a certain tactic and players for it. I also have a backup for every position so I can switch some players or maybe even my tactic.
And I also thought you could do some transfers after the group stages.
If not I'm most likely going to be screwed.

Only two days until The World Cup starts! Who is excited for some USA football?! I'm feeling pretty confident about our squad despite Donovan not being on the team.

Who are you rooting for in the World cup besides the Team USA?

As a European, I'm pretty interested to see which teams are popular in America !

I root for Italy. I know that it isn't the most popular choice and that they can play ugly football but they simply are the team that I liked the most during my first major soccer tournament (Euro 2000, the back-breaking Trezeguet goal in the dying minutes of regulation in the final.....). Have stuck with them ever since.

I also like Cote d'Ivoire because of the Chelsea/Drogba connection, Drogba was basically my favorite player for the past decade. I always root for other African teams as well since they have talented and fun players, and I want to see one of their countries finally end up in the first three places.

And I also might find myself rooting for England in some matches because of Chelsea players, mostly it means because of Lampard.

I want to root for Germany but I also want to see Loew finally get sacked. It's enough already.

In my case, as a Spaniard, I´ll change the question and I´ll say that apart from my country I´ll go with Belgium.

Nice squad of young and great players, and amongst them my favourite goalkeeper and a top scorer in Lukaku (I feel sorry for the Benteke absence, he is an absolute beast) so they have the recipe to success, even when they face very tough matchups in the first round and quarter finals (Portugal-Argentina, probably). I´m rooting for them till semi-finals, when they should be eliminated by Spain :P

Do you think that the USA team has chances in the very difficult group they have?

I completely forgot to mention - nobody sings the national anthem with as much enthusiasm as the Italians.

Well, as soon as the game's on I'm rooting for Germany to beat the other guys on the pitch, no matter how dumb the coach and choice of a starting eleven might be.

As far as other teams go. I can't really "root" for other european teams cause they're our "rivals" or at least they think want to make it look like it.

Though, I'm wishing all the best to Chile and Columbia, as long as they don't play us.

So I guess I have to say "See you in the Semi's"

If we could beat your team and reach the finals ... Oh my god! :D
