Who should be #15 on the Hornets Big Board?

Porzingis isn't nearly as good of a defender as AK47 though, right? Or as a ball handler/driver?

I do think he'd be perfect besides Al.

He lacks AK's freakish combination of strength and speed, of course. At this point he can only emulate the ability to cover ground very quickly on defense and block everything in his sight at the rim. You could beat him one-on-one though, if you have a strength advantage.

He can definitely handle the ball just as well as Kirilenko can, maybe he's even better at it when you consider how he compared against the average 7-footer. You can call him a worse driver just because he isn't as likely to finish in the paint as Kirilenko would be. His lack of weight really hurts him and he rather evades colliding with opposing bigs. He's like Cody in this aspect, only that CZ Top would attempt the drives and end up on the floor, yet Porzingis would rather pull up for the jumper or try a lay-up that has him avoid other bodies.

Thanks. I'm sure you know more about him than I do, as all I've seen of him is highlights. I guess I was underrating his handle and his defense. He does definitely need to get stronger. That really stands out in the videos I've watched.

In the same time, I might be more biased than you are so there's that. I believe in his handle and I guess that he doesn't get to show it off that much in Spain since they don't really need an 18-year-old power forward go wild with his dribbling. As for his defense, let's see how it will translate to the NBA. It's one thing to swat away everything your peers throw up (he was absolutely bonkers in the U-18 European championship), it will be a whole different thing to understand NBA's defensive schemes.

His ceiling is not star level, but he could be a Sullinger-type talent whose productivity is higher than his draft position. Hood is OK, but a limited upside. Do the right thing folks...
