Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup: Group H (BEL/ALG/RUS/KOR)
South Korea have a good team on paper. The problem is the same all Asian teams face, not big enough & not physical enough.
I'm expecting good things from Koo. He loves to play for his country. Hopefully, he can play well this WC and come back to Mainz with confidence. He really seemed to lack confidence after riding the bench in Wolfsburg.

11 Belgium
19 Russia
21 Algeria
57 Korea

there are geographical considerations, groups are not strictly by fifa rankings

Great strike force of Arsenal's Park Chu-Young, and our young star Heung-Min Son of Leverkusen.
that's a great strike force? park chu-young?DRK wrote:Combine that with a young and pacy midfield consisting of Mainz 05's Koo Cha-Jeol, Swansea's Ki Seung Yeng and Bolton's Lee Chu Young, we're going to be a pretty tough matchup.
sounds like a very mediocre bunch tbh
I agree that Arsenal really killed Park Chu-Young's career, but I believe he's still got what it takes to be a top player for his country again. We shall see. I have faith.
Call it what you want, but I think as long as we play our usual attacking game, we'll be fine. We're one of the youngest teams in the Cup, so whatever the outcome turns out to be, it'll be interesting.

Koo is a fantastic player. I'm expecting big things from him as well. We made the Final 16 in 2010, and Semi-s in 02, so history proves that the size isnt too much of an issue.
Ironic that a player I love (Suarez) was the guy that knocked us out of the 16 with his double against us in 2010.

I'll definitely watch a couple of South Korean games because of Koo & Joo-Ho Park.
Speaking of Park, why isn't he a starter for you guys? He has played like a boss for us this season.

No clue. The starting 11 isnt really set just yet so we'll see soon enough.

Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup: Group H (BEL/ALG/RUS/KOR)
I'd love to see it, but South Korea is going to have a tough time getting out of this group.
They have been awful in their friendlies leading up to the tournament, conceding 5 goals and scoring none in two losses to Tunisia and Ghana.
They have some great young talent in the midfield, but will have trouble scoring. The strikers named are not good, sorry.
They will need 4 or 5 points to advance, and I'm not sure where those points are coming from. Best case scenario is probably a draw with Russia and a win over Algeria, but both of those teams have been playing much better than Korea recently.

You're going to be thoroughly surprised if you think that both Belgium and Russia play bad football. And if you think this is the worst group ever, I assume it's the very first WC you're going to watch?

한국분 이세요?
I think we got what it takes to advance. Who knows about 박주영, he can turn it on at any time. We shall see whether we'll see the 2012 Olympic Bronze Medal Game Park, or the Arsenal Park. For alot of these players, it'll be their first WC, so theyll have alot to prove and alot of expectations. I'm sure players would want to prove they can do it without Ji-Sung.
It'll be good to watch. 화이팅!

Worst World Cup Group ever? Whaaat? Belgium are going to be wildly exciting, Russia have talented players across the board, and South Korea could still be jockeying to win the group.
To Dare Is To Do? 13 League Titles. You've only got 2.

I don't even think this is the worst Group of this tournament, let alone the worst of all time.
