and yet he still weighs at least 230 lbs with little musculature. you also conveniently left out his legs. he's got big legs which is where leverage comes from. imo, the only thing that would prevent him from bulking up enough to check 4's is if he doesn't want to. he could just naturally physically mature without trying to bulk up and be at 240 in a few yrs.

7'2" wingspan and 9' standing reach. Yeah, nothing impressive about that. :banghead:

The thing about the Spurs pick is that in arguably the greatest international draft to date they are a shark smelling blood

Kyle Anderson is nothing like Odom or Diaw, big players who were able to play the 4 (and in Diaw's case the 5 as well). Odom was also very athletic, while Kyle Anderson's nickname is "slow mo". There is little chance the Spurs waste a pick on this guy. I think pretty much everyone has seen through him (though I am sure someone will waste a pick on him).

Anderson will be able to play 4 in the NBA. Watch and feel stupid.

Diaw wasn't that size when he came into the league. He was much smaller.
I want the Knicks to somehow get this kid and bring him in off the bench.

Yikes. This guy even has Tiago Splitter beat with his slowness.

Vid really sells the Diaw comparison for me.

Diaw was 6-8 and chiselled when he came into the NBA, as the above photo shows. He has indeed put on weight since, but not in a desirable way.

diaw wasn't chiseled. he was straight up skinny. at the same stage anderson had ~30 lbs on diaw.
and no, it's not bad weight either. KA weighed 233 during the season. 230 at the combine. i doubt he's stopped working since the combine.

can barely jump over a piece of paper, and plays the perimeter. not encouraging.

He's my man at #20. If he goes too early and is in the wrong situation I could see him busting, but not out of the league. He's got far too many skills and too high IQ not to find a niche.

Diaw was a long, thin, athletic freak when he came into the league. He even won a dunk contest in France and was generally seen as one of the country's best athletes along with Mickael Pietrus.

The ballhandling, passing and defense was already there, but no one could have predicted his transformation into a pure post player.

He has a case for being the most versatile and adaptable player of all time... You're talking about someone who literally played the PG like a PG, the wing like a wing, and the post like a post player, with dfferent body shapes in different phases of his career.

Kyle Anderson is different. If he makes it (and he could be a disaster) it'll be because he belongs to the Larry Bird, Paul Pierce tradition: someone who is very good because he slows down the game.

Boris Diaw was playing PF, SF and PG in France during the season before going to the NBA. His best position was power forward, but big men in the french league were very small twelve years ago (around 6'6 to 6'9)
He was really athletic, a lot more athletic (and thin) than Anderson is. He was quite as athletic as Nicolas Batum at the same age

Is there a lot of paper in an NBA game?

My main concern with Anderson is that he doesn't seem to play well without the ball. He doesn't do much of anything when he's not handling the rock.

10 rebounds per 40 minutes for a guy who is supposedly a guard? Assuming he rebounds only "when he's not handling the rock", I'd say that's something.

Toni Kukoc, Boris Diaw, Hedo Turkoglu.... none of those guys are a threat to make an all star team, but all three of them where big time contributors to their playoff teams as an un-athletic Point Forwards.
