What impact will Sterling limbo issues have on free agency?
So, it was announced that the hearing won't be until July 7- free agents can commit starting July 1. I am worried all of this garbage will interfere will the Clippers chances to sign free agents. Just when you thought Sterling was done screwing this team, he rears his ugly head.

I think we are gonna be okay. we have the core set, and all we need is a pair of spare parts near minimum salaries, and those players tend to go at the very end, after most teams have signed their first targets and those who lose out need to fill their roster with their back up plans.
if we need a starting SF, I'm sure we can pull off something by packaging dudley and jamal or add a draft pick or two to make it happen. we probably don't even have a cap space to sign a true impact starting SF right out of the free agency.

Re: What impact will Sterling limbo issues have on free agen
the priorities are as follows:
1. starting 3
2. back up big man
3. back up point guard
true, not as big of needs as many other teams, but if other players are apprehensive about signing with the Clippers, this could really handicap them. For example, it would be nice to get Pierce and/or KG (if a buy out is ever discussed), but they may be very reluctant to sign with the awful cloud of Sterling around. I wish so much that he would just go away. I thought the nightmare was over, but it seems it is never over with him.

I'm not sure that Dudley is moveable since he has a player option of $4,250,000 for the 15/16 season.

potentially.
but say, for a team like Utah Jazz who needs to meet the floor and contemplating whether Gordon Hayward is a part of their future going forward, can possibly be pondering a sign and trade. Gordon is looking for a payday, around 10 million per year for the next 5 years. the Jazz to me seems a bit reluctant to give him that type of a deal especially as a long term contract when Favor is also due for his huge contract this year. next year will be Kanter's turn, then the guards they have drafted are going to be ready for their big deals in 2 more years.
guess what, Dudley's deal will be over in 2 more years, and Richard Jefferson's big contract just expired. they will need some way to fill the cap to meet the floor without giving up a long term deal that is even bigger and will hinder their future contacts going forward.
I think it is possible to consider for a team like the Jazz to sign and trade Hayward to us for Dudley and Jamal, then wave Jamal immediately if they choose to, or keep both until they need to free up the cap.

Good point, that would be great if that scenario did happen. Though I wouldn't trade jamal unless we get someone amazing in return.

What I like about Hayward is that he can score and pass. Having arguably the best passer in Paul, along with the best passing PF in Griffin, to add another score or pass type player would really put defenders in two minds.

wouldn't mind having Hayward in a Clipper uni and all. He is a team player that will attack, shoot or pass depending what is asked of him & he is only in his early 20's.

I would love to have Hayward, not sure why they would basically want to give him away in a sign and trade though?

Trevor Ariza
Ivan Johnson
Jarrett Jack
are who I prefer we go after this summer.

I agree. Those guys would be great acquisitions. However, as I said in my original post, I'm worried that nobody will sign here until or if all of the Sterling stuff is resolved. This could really handicap the Clippers this off season

because the Jazz can't sign all of their young players to a long term contract. the same dilemma we had gone through 10 years ago with Lamar, Elton, Corey, Q, DMiles(which turned into that pos Andre Miller), Kandi, all wanted a big contract and we had to choose just a few.
the Jazz needs to pay Favors this year, Kanter next year, then the guards the year after. can Jazz pay Hayward 10 million a year in 3 years when Favors will be a max or near max, Kanter is a big which always demands more $$$, Trey Burke and Alex Burks coming up.
Hayward is their best player right now, so they may well just pay Gordon and Favors both, or choose Hayward over Favors... but you just never know.
ehhhhh f it.

But does anyone actually want to trade for Dudley and his contract? You mentioned the possibility to waive Jamal Crawford, but he's actually worth his contract. If they don't want Crawford, then it seems like they would just let Hayward walk rather than trade for questionable value in return.
