I don't know. I've never gotten the impression that there's as much gamesmanship going on as the NFL draft (for expample).
With only 2 rounds (and really on the top 14 of the first round mattering), I don't think there's a ton of point in trying to BS in the NBA draft. Everyone already knows who's good and who isn't. We pretty much know for a fact who is going top 3 already. The order they're drafted doesn't matter a ton, the teams will take whoever is left of those three without any movement up or down at all and be happy. The same is largely true for 4-8.
Also, in regards to Gordon (or anyone else) not coming to Minnesota to work out:

Edit:
It's not like the NLF draft where Spielman was able to convince the Browns that he loved Justin Gilbert, so that he was able to get an additional fifth from a pick swap with them.
The only point in convincing other teams that Boston loves Gordon would be to either drag value from them in a trade up or to trick them into trading up to 4 or 5 and allowing talent they like better to fall. However, the Lakers or Kings likely wouldn't care since they'd be just fine with one of Smart, Exum, Vonleh, or Randle. And other teams likely wouldn't care either since the cost for them to move up would be prohibitive.
The one exception might be the Wolves, if they think that Flip actually LOVES Gordon (and Doogie is leaking BS from the Wolves' side), then convincing the Wolves that the only shot they have at Gordon is by trading with the Celtics could be a decent strategy.
