Putting stats up of possession and shots aren't very evolved comments. Sometimes a strategy of a team doesn't circle around that.

Ex: This season A. Madrid could have played 100 games vs Barça and in all of those games barça would have 60% plus possession and double their shots. I would argue that A. Madrid would win more than 50 games.

heck under the possesion=win premise, barcelona should be unbeaten for the 4 years under pep

Well, that's a bit of a leap. It was a 2-goal win. That's football.

Yeah, the 3rd goal came late on the counter when Croatia was throwing everybody forward. They certainly would have been doing the same thing had they been level 1-1.

The thing is, in high scoring sports like Bball and others unless its a lategame decision a single mistake doesn't have a lof of influence in the final result.

In soccer it does. A 1st min mistake from a ref can change all the outcome of the game. And still its the most undeveloped sport in techonological help for the referee. Its sad

I don't even know what to say.

When will they ever realize you need good referees for this kind of competition?

Croatia would've easily escaped with a point or a win if it wasn't for this game changing decision by the one with tomatoes on his eyes.

Didnt Spain lose to Switzerland in the first game in 2010?

i would be pretty upset if i was a croatia fan with my coach saying that. this loss shouldve motivated croatia, they still have the 2nd most talent in this group and can easily advance.

You would be upset if your coach comes up with the exactly right conclusion why they lost this game?

That finish by Oscar was kind of Romario-esque.

As a Croat, I'm not pissed at the fact that we lost. We didn't really deserve to win and were outplayed for the most part. Having the turning point being on a bull call is what pisses me off.

Pletikosa, apart from one great save, also played terrible for Croatia. 2 weak goals and a penalty kick that never should've been going right through his hands.

Rough game by Brazil, Marcelo was pretty bad. I've always been a huge Hulk and Daniel Alves hater, and today, once again, they lived up to my hate. Let's play a drinking game: whenever Daniel Alves mis-cover a play, just drink. We'll all get hammered.

I'd love to see ANY of Hernanes, Bernard or Willian to take over Hulk's spot, and Maicon to rule over Dani.

Pletikosa and Júlio César were awful. If the referee didn't bail César out, Croatia would have scored the second goal on that cross to Olic on 2nd half.

Oscar played out of position most of the time, but man, he was still huge. He's a monster with the mindset of a midget, whenever he is confident, like today, he just dominates. Love the guy, man of the match for sure.

Crap call that changed the result. Neither team seemed to be doing much at all before the penalty, so I do think it would've ended 1-1.

Really poor keeping. It was well struck but there's no way he should have been beaten near post off the right foot considering the ball didn't have that much pace.

A 6ft4 keeper should never allow that kind of shot, agreed. Also, the PK was poorly taken. The only unguardable goal was Oscar's.
