Can't believe MLS still has games tomorrow.
Though I am happy about it.

Montreal looked pretty terrible last night.
Their supporters group also walked out after two of their members were removed by security. Lots of drama in Montreal this season.
Also, for those in need of a decent score ticker for the World Cup, MLS has one right on their main page.

D.C. United back in first place. Started at the bottom, now we here. The kings of MLS have reclaimed their throne.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

The Timbers looked terrible last night. I don't think I've ever seen so much fail from a center back pairing in my life... Pa Mo Du Kah and Raushawn McKenzie looked like a mediocre American HS team trying to defend against Messi and CR7 last night. It was embarrassing to watch. We desperately need new center backs.

Do you still feel that Portland should make the playoffs this season?
They looked sharp to begin the season, but they have clearly started to drop off.

Not unless we fix the back line.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
Ah ****. RSL has playing awful for about a month now. I think its time to start worrying.
Three NASL teams beat MLS teams tonight including NY Cosmos over the Red Bulls. That NYRBs third consecutive USOC loss in their entering round. Very Impressive, but so disappointed inRSL

MLS got steam rolled in the US Open Cup last night.
Three MLS loses does not look good for that tournament moving forward. Why even play it if most teams don't care about it?

Do you think any of the players you have now will move up to MLS with Orlando?

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
We have five MLS signings currently. Tyler Turner, Darwin Ceren, Yordany Alvarez, Tommy Redding and Kevin Molino. I think they are all signed for 2015 only. All of those guys have been good in our club games this season. Tyler Turner will be here for a long time, solid young player from the National team under 18. All of those guys have been playing well and perhaps a couple others will go. Luke Boden has been pretty freaking phenomenal this year as was Rob Valentino before injury. A local favorite Dennis Chin I think has MLS speed and has been impressive at times. I hope our keeper's skills translate to the majors, I am a huge Miguel Gallardo fan. We have guys coming in all the time as trialist and it's hard to keep track at times. Corey Hertzog is getting a shot this season and seems at all times on the verge of scoring but has few times this year. I like the way he plays a lot and the fans have really been behind him.
Make no mistake OCSC isn't coming to MLS to participate only. This is a very solid club with huge plans. It will take us a while, maybe, but we will be a top team.

Yes, there are 5 players currently on the roster that are under contract for next year.:
Kevin Molino (5-foot-11, 145 lbs) - attacking midfielder
The all-time leader in assists in club history (15) leads the team with three goals and two assists this year. The 23-year-old Molino has been with the club since 2011 and re-signed in January after being courted by other clubs in Europe and the United States, according to Heath. Formerly a wing, Molino has seen time in a central role and was named USL PRO MVP in 2012. Molino has scored five goals in 22 appearances for Trinidad and Tobago, including a goal against Honduras in last summer’s CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Yordany Álvarez (5-foot-10, 165 lbs) - defensive midfielder
Now in his sixth season in the United States after defecting from Cuba, the 28-year-old spent the last two seasons with Real Salt Lake. The 2011 USL PRO MVP while with Orlando, Álvarez is technically on loan in 2014 after a trade that saw Orlando City send their lowest fourth-round pick in the 2017 SuperDraft to RSL. Álvarez appeared in 33 MLS games over the last two seasons and has played every minute this season as a defensive midfielder.
Darwin Cerén (5-foot-7, 165 lbs) - attacking midfielder
Heath noticed the right winger during a visit to El Salvador late last year, spotting the 24-year-old playing for Juventud Independiente. Cerén has quickly become a regular for El Salvador and regularly captains the team, but he has yet to find his footing in the US, as he has gone scoreless despite a team-high 17 shots.
Tyler Turner (5-foot-11, 155 lbs) - right back
Ranked as the No. 2 defender among this year’s high-school seniors, the 18-year-old bypassed the chance to play collegiately at UCLA to turn pro, and he has made an immediate impact for Orlando City. A starter on the right side of the Lions backline, Turner looked comfortable during preseason matches against MLS squads at the Disney Pro Classic. A former captain of the US Under-17 national team, Turner was called up to the US U-18s earlier this month.
Thomas Redding (6-foot-2, 175 lbs) - center back
The 17-year-old out of Oviedo, Fla., became the first MLS Homegrown signing by the club when MLS and Orlando jumped at the chance to keep the high-school junior in the US, rather than seeing him choose one of numerous professional opportunities in Europe. The center back has not played yet due to injury but was also called up to the US U-18 national team’s training camp.

There are also a several players on the roster that have a shot such as: Adama Mbenge (remember that name, ridiculously fast and he has a ton of dribbling talent and made several AS Roma players look bad in a friendly). Brad Rusin (big defender, has MLS experience). Corey Hertzog (has MLS experience, can score).
There have been rumors about Robinho joining Kaka. Break Shea also came to train wit the team for 10 days earlier this month.

Off day for the World Cup so why not take a break by watching two of the best strikers in the world?
Toronto takes on New York tonight at 8pm.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
Huge win for Sporting KC over Portland last night.
I think this is the first year in awhile where teams from the East are competing well against the West.
Oh, and did everyone see TFC's Gilberto's free kick last night? What a strike.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
I wouldn't consider that a huge win for SKC over Portland at all...the Timbers still look pretty terrible. Although, things should get a little bit better after signing Liam Ridgewell to play CB. We'll see if they pair him with Kah or Papparatto now.
