Don't have an opinion about them.

Well I like the place. There are some excellent Ball minds there tbh. Some of the most knowledgeable have been inactive for a while. There's some scallywags as well, but every place has them. My gut is that the quality of the Spurs forum has dropped a bit over the last 6 mths, but I think it will pick back up if Spurs win this dance as people will return.

The unique thing about it is in the 'Think Tank' forum where you get solid takes from Sth Amer' and Euro Spur fans. Very good insight. You can learn a lot about Adriatic, Euro Cup, Euroleague players etc.

The NBA forum I'll leave for you to decide. I get a laugh out of some of the thread titles tbh. :D

I think I've posted about Spurstalk before, but my opinion is also mixed. My personal experience is I've submitted to join Spurstalk over a year and a half ago and apparently all the mods have disappeared and stopped approving accounts. I definitely read a lot of their posts because their senior members are insanely quick at posting Spurs related news. You can see me lurking under the same user name, but of course I can't actually use the forums. Even trying to contact them through email and their submission form has lead to nothing.

My favorite poster was Bruno, but it has rely turned into "Lord of the Flies" over there. I think Bruno has stopped posting. The basketball discussions have fallen way off. Someone can post a strong point and inevitably there are people there that will post offensive homophobic, childish, racist, and cowardly responses. There is literally zero moderation.

Spurstalk was way better around the time of the last championship. Now it appears to be 90% 14 years that have the freedom to anonymously post literally anything. On top of that, some of them have horrible basketball takes. During the OKC series and after game 2 of this series way too many declared the Spurs done.

With no new posters (for over a year and counting) and no mods left it's just a matter of time before it falls apart.

I post over there sometimes, but the level has gone downhill since Timvp (the owner) and Bruno stopped posting.

The think tank part is my favorite. A lot of guys with knowledge about international prospects, infos, CBA etc.

They gave to much freedom to trolls and fans from other fanbases. That's what I don't like over there. The Spurs part needs to be free of trolls and other fanbases should only be allowed to use the NBA part, not the Spurs part.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

Like others have said there's a lot of great scouting reports on international prospects but its a bit of a free for all over there.

thanks everyone i like the Spurs as my second favorite team and wanted to post over there but never got approved and now know why. That place IMO is the most hilarious message board i've ever seen, their posters are crazy but also passionate which is why i wanted to post there. Why did the mods stop supervising the board and why is it they hate Timvp? Was he a bad mod or just a mod who trolled alot because it came off that way for how they talked about him?

From what I could tell reading Spurstalk over the years is Timvp owns the website. He is married to Kori, another mod and spurs fan. I think before last season Timvp had some pretty serious health issues. Then there were rumors of him divorcing Kori, but that's coming from some of the Spurstalk under belly.

I think the vitriol directed at Timvp is after last years playoffs he made some thread saying he was taking a break. People perceived that as jumping ship. As the mods are slow to add new posters and don't actually moderate, some people are getting upset. Obviously, I spend too much of my time reading about the Spurs.

I haven't even looked at that board in over a year. IMO there is probably more crap than good stuff. Way too many wackos and crap posted. They should either clean it up or shut it down. It is approaching cesspool status to me.

I'd rather have no mod with childish posters than biased and power abusing mods with mob posters like a certain Rockets forum.

agreed which is why i love that board so much. On one of my favorite teams boards the moderators would delete posts that were being "too critical" to the team. Just awful and i dont post there anymore

It's awful. So negative, they criticise everything. Whenever the Spurs lose, the sky is falling and blame is thrown around like crazy. The only part of it worth reading is the think tank, to follow overseas prospects.

The majority of posters there who post 'upstairs' have never seen a losing season, or at least were too young to remember or care. When you go there as a Bucks fan and watch the clowns abuse their team and players, act like Chicken Little, threaten to quit as a fan if some inanely ordinary event happens, etc, you just have to shake your head.

They're passionate but some of the takes are ridiculous, and they have no idea that they breathe a sense of entitlement that most other franchise fans can only ever dream about. Imagine having 5 championships and 15 seasons of 50+ wins. Yet many of them are like, "it's been such a long 7 years since we won a title, about time we're back on track.

I'm not a member there but I wish I was so I could some of those **** in the nuts.
Luckily, for the revenue department of the government, speed doesn't kill.

They don't approve new members and there is too much racism and homophobia for my taste.

timvp ran into health problems last year so he and his wife took a break, slomo the euro mod is only responsible for maintaining the servers

they havnt been active for a year, havnt process new accounts...
bruno the french mod doesnt do anything since he cant even regulate his own french wankers let alone the haters are banned downstairs into the nba section..
then u have the other mod who is the owners nephew or **** related, who trolls but always get pwned by clowns who love to photoshop his face on various memo pictures...

the spurs section is lame as duck, u critic the player/team or not a fan member of one the churches u either get banned downstairs to nba section or labled a hater...lmao, theres a few good posters in the nba section who just posts anything negative to push t heir buttons to see a reaction even when trolling/truthbomb...game day threads nba section>spurs section quality; cause u get different views instead of 1 sided views from spurs fans only...

Is Spurstalk dead? It's been down for some days now I think. Weird time for a fan site to die, it being after a chip and all.

It's back up now. I guess they let their domain name registration expire.
