Smart isn't worth a top pick...I wouldn't even take him at 10.

Yes Smart would be a great fit here. I didn't think about him a lot because he seems to be in the 4-8 range.

I like Smarts physique. He's going to be able to out muscle many defenders. Reminds me of a young more muscular Mitch Richmond in size + skills. Now Richmond became a sharp shooter so M Smart would need to put hours and hours into his shot to ever approach Richmonds overall game. Not impossible though.

Love Marcus Smart and would do the happy dance if the 76ers were able to get him.

Some things are better left unsaid. Smart is a legit, STUD PROSPECT. Tighten up.
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

He can save his hate for that midget, Gary Harris. Smart's not small and he's not short. His standing reach is the same as MCW's. Smart suffers from "short neck syndrome" and an erratic shot. He's a bit volatile and has an ugly mug, if you're looking for my thorough analysis. Smart is a badass baller.

You hit it here...isn't he a less than 30% shooter from the college 3? In a separate string, Randle is getting killed due to his perimeter shot, yet Smart is a top 5 pick?? History doesn't show undersized SG's lead you to a championship, so what makes Smart different? He's very different than Iverson, but still an undersized SG. Until the rules are changed, I'll pass on this type of player at the top of the draft.

Smart is neither undersized nor a shooting guard. There are plenty of comparable players who overcame shooting woes became successful NBA-ers (Wall, Westbrook, Rose, Stephenson, Evans, Stuckey, etc.).
"Bob Cooney was on Fox Philly news last night with Howard Eskin and he said some GMs don't like Hinkie because he doesn't follow the "old boys club rules". He mentioned Hinkie doesn't return some of the other GM's phone calls."

Smart has a defensive floor that will allow him to play 25 - 30 mpg immediately. Position wise, his defensive ceiling is higher than any player in this draft not named Embiid, IMO. As you are surely aware, Randle's defense is suspect until further notice. See the difference? That's the difference on D. On offense, Smart draws double teams and passes the ball to his open team mates. He's a facilitator. Randle? Hmmm, not so much. Both guys rebound well for their positions. And Randle has a screw loose. Advantage SMART!

Dwyane Wade has 3 championships and has been there 5 times. They also have very comparable stats in college, and that's with Wade redshirting a year.

Marcus Smart is top 5-7 because he has a near complete game. His only weakness is perimeter shooting, and it has been shown 'time and time again' that players improve their perimeter shooting in the pros.

I completely agree.
If our fans are capable of getting on board with Nerlens Noel, then they should have no problem with Smart. Fantastic defender and does everything extremely well... except for shooting. Even his shot isn't broken. If you watching highlights of Smart, you'll see him make a steal on defense, then throw a perfect pass down the court for fast break points. Those are the types of plays that change the game.
He is also a known flopper which, if you've been watching the Finals, is a prerequisite to being a star in the NBA.

Wade is a pretty good comparison...although I think a lot has changed in the decade since Wade entered the league. He "played through contact" a lot in college - as well as in the earlier part of his NBA career - and was successful in doing so...although we now see the toll it took on his body. There are some differnces - I think Smart will probably not play above the rim the way that DWade did, but he is also a better on-the-ball defender than Wade ever was. I just don't know if a 6'4" guy can be a dominant offensive player without blinding quickness or a consistent perimeter stroke. Wade was able to physically bludgeon people in the half-court, and I think that is what Smart will have tomdo to be successful. We'll see if he can do it.

Some people don't like him because there is no easy comparable, so they don't know where he fits. Smart is a beast. He is an impact player and he sees the game a step ahead of everybody else on the court. He is one of the players in this draft, that I'll be most shocked if he isn't successful.

Travis Ford should use his own money to create a statue of Marcus Smart on OSU's campus. Smart is the only reason that man is still coach in Stillwater. He carried that team.
