I thought you were on the Embiid train? You are the first person I remember mentioning him as the best prospect at the beginning of the year.

Marion simply did not have the ability to do what Melo does and where he changed the game in other areas, it isn't to the level that Melo's scoring is impact wise. Melo may not be a #1 on a team that will win it all, but he is certainly in the range that say Stoudemire was in Phoenix compared to where Marion was.

Yes Melo scored more points than Marion, but that is only a small part of the game. Last year, Brandon Jennings scored more than Chris Paul, but I think Paul is slightly betterMelo's scoring stats are not exceptional and is simply a volume shooter/scorer, and he is nowhere near the Offensive force that Amare was.

Our goal shouldn't be to draft the player who will have the Highest PPG but rather the player who plays the most efficiently and impacts winning the most.

Embiid's back issues at such a young age bother me. People will point to Andre Drummond as an example, but it's far from a foregone conclusion that they don't come back to haunt him within the next couple of years. Call it a gut feeling, but regardless of who's the best prospect, I think Parker ends up becoming the best player because I think he's the one guy who really wants it.

How do we know a player really wants it though? I mean all these kids have been training and playing for this opportunity all their lives and now we are saying one wants it more then the other? Drummond was a guy who had questionable desire coming into the draft because of his one college season. Now who doesn't pick him in the top 3 in a redraft or even higher?
The Philadelphia 76ers are taking a long look at former Kansas guard Andrew Wiggins during a team visit, a source told Yahoo Sports.
Wiggins arrived in Philadelphia on Sunday night and will work out for the Sixers on Tuesday, a source said. The 6-foot-8, 200-pounder is also scheduled to get a tour of Philadelphia and other key sites on Monday. The Sixers own the third and 10th overall picks in the 2014 NBA draft on June 26 in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Nah lets take him.

Like I said, gut feeling.

Whether the Sixers fall deeply in love won't have an impact on our ability to take him, unless they trade up to 1, which, as everyone knows, is ideal to me.

Just messin with ya a little. Think you're getting a little fanatical about Parker like you did with Embiid and speaking in some pretty large absolutes you know people will disagree with.
breakchains wrote:I feel comfortable in my position. Just because I feel confident about it doesn't mean others can't hold a different opinion. I haven't bashed anyone for liking Wiggins more than Parker. I just don't agree. People felt the same way when I was proclaiming Embiid as the clear-cut top prospect before it was popular to do so. In fact, some of the same people complaining in this thread about people dissing other's opinions bashed me at the time for it. But I just have my own opinion and when I feel comfortable with it, I share it. I don't think I'm ever really disrespectful about it. Some people just seem insecure about their opinions and don't like it when someone else holds a differing one. I don't really care whether you have Wiggins as #2. It's your opinion - doesn't bother me.
