Yeah and it is totally accurate.
The closest comparison on the Spurs is maybe Ginobili if he was larger, a worse 3Pt Shooter, and a far inferior passer.

Yeah let's not draft a player because you can't envision him operating in an already filled role on the Spurs. It takes an unbelievable amount of bias to even fathom that a great Coach like Pop would not only not want but wouldn't be able to find a starting role for and to get the most out of a talented 19 year old player like Parker.

Said this before, but Giannis kinda reminds me of skinny Diaw from his Atlanta/Phoenix days (I remember he had a very nice playoff run one of those years).
I think Giannis could be a mix of Diaw and Lamar Odom on the offensive side.

If you don't pass or defend you don't play for Pop, Parker would need to get with the program, could easily see him coming off the bench to start, playing for the best NBA team.

Now I don't have to look at anyone (myself included) act like they know anything about him.

Pop and his coaching staff would actually Coach him up and help him adjust to playing in his system, which Parker would be able to adapt his game to fit just like Kawhi, Danny Green and just about everyone else the Spurs Organization has brought in.

It is true that you do not simply seek to copy the current Champ, but it is much easier to imagine a player succeeding when it has been before. What player in a prominent role from any NBA Champ has a game that is similar to Parker or Melo?
Off the top of my head the only 1 in the last 25 years or so is Paul Pierce...which means then we would just need to have 2 Hall of Famers traded to us.
Who else fits that profile, would he be our version of Mark Aguirre from those Pistons teams (not too familiar with teams from that long ago)

He's faster than both of them but the skill set is similar.

We'll probably need a couple players that level next to whoever we draft to win.

That would most likely happen, but not only because of Pop, the veteran presence on this team would make sure he played the Spur way. My concern is for a one on one isolation player having no vet stars to teach him how to play the game the correct way.

We need an alpha dog, we need a guy to carry us because we're essentially starting from scratch here. We don't have coach, we have a GM, we don't have a Tim Duncan superstar player.
I hope you're watching right now.
Just posted this in the other thread:
Ginobli/Parker --> Exum
Kawhi --> Wiggins

why is that interesting the only other team that would make sense doing this would be the sixers and they have no interest in exum.
