Despite the disappointing end, it was still a good season

Post#1 » by Jaxon » Mon Jun 16, 2014 3:07 am

I'm going to buck the trend and make a positive thread. We might not have 3 peated, but we still went to 4 Finals in a row, beat the Pacers, and watched some great ball from the greatest player in the world this year. As fans we can't ask for much more than that. It's been a good season, regardless of whether we won or not. And now we get to look forward to the roster retooling, and I think the light is brighter than people realize. I expect good changes to come out of this loss, and I believe Lebron will stay and weather through it, and we'll be back in contention next year and even better two years from now.

Meh. This season wasn't as fun as previous ones. Wade missed a bunch of games. LeBron was out of the MVP race pretty early. A lot of losing to sub .500 teams. Oden and Beasley didn't work out.

Next year will definitely have more intrigue.

Is this the official PG thread?

I am proud of this team. 11 straight series wins. 4 straight Finals. 2 straight titles. You can't help but smile at the road so far. It's not over either. Now we reload and try to get that 3peat again.

Man I said to myself I wanted a run to the finals like in 2011 but a different result, but that didn't happen. I guess playing game 7s before the finals makes us get on our heels to win

This team just got worn out and lost their identity, but we got beat by the better team. They played beautiful basketball and hat 3rd quarter was like us against OKC in game 5. It's inevitable I guess

I'm just glad we got the Pacers in 6 games since they worked so hard and talked So much for a game 7 on their floor, and it didn't happen. Felt good.

I may feel differently in a few days, but right now I'm not happy. The series with the Spurs showed that we are far from being competitive at their level. They exposed our weaknesses again and again and despite our players' efforts, we were unable to make a serious candidacy for the title. There really isn't much to be encouraged about. We fell short and champions do not do that.

The Pacers traded Kawhi Leonard to the Spurs for George Hill.

So there's that.

So yeah dudes I'm pretty bummed ATM but still I think this team has a good amount of years ahead of them. I have optimism for the future and off season excited me already. There are only 3 spurs from their last chip still on that roster who knows maybe we get lucky and get a kawhi leonard type in a year or two.

Have faith guys!!! The heat will be back here soon!!!

Not really.

We traded our pick for Hill. The deal didn't go through before te pick was on the clock so we selected Kawhi Leonard for them. We never would've taken him for ourselves. He didn't fit a need.

Yeah I didn't enjoy that much this time as well. I was pumped up back then hearing the Beas/Oden signings, but we all know how that turned out. I did enjoy some moments tho (ex. LeBron GSW Game winner, Bosh POR Game winner, and other stuff im forgetting)

Add the fact that every scrub team was on Game 7 Finals mode against us while we were coasting that led to some ugly losses......

Hopefully next year will be a lot more fun with some new talent in Ennis injected while Beas/Oden somehow works out along with some other new acquisitions

Have to give the Spurs props. They came into the series better prepared. I am sure they spent the entire year preparing for the Heat targeting their weaknesses. Still, the Heat being in 4 finals in a row is a once in a lifetime feat. Lets hope they make it 5 times.

This was probably the most underwhelming season of the Big 3 era. I don't know what it was exactly, but it had the "meh" factor built in from the jump. Something was just never there with this team. Something was missing.

Nonetheless, I greatly appreciate these guys for an amazing 4 year run. Here's to the next 4.

Very true. I mean they showed heart against the pacers and played well

Then they just fell off and they never got back their mojo

They were not there collectively as a team mentally. It was weird to watch. I don't know if fatigue was a factor but they definitely did not have the motivation.

Hopefully losing gives them a chip on their shoulder to get their heads on straight once again.

The team was fine until game 3 of the Finals. Lets not start making crap up about no heart just because we lost.

This and This again. That game 3 was the beginning of the end. Before that, we didn't even need 7 to beat teams like Brooklyn and Indiana who people thought would give us issues. We dominated them. Game 3 was a resurfacing of our bad habits which had been built up since the beginning of the year

i think the highlight of the season was either crushing the pacers in the ECF or LeBron going ham for 61 against charlotte.
