3 players can't clear the ball in front of them

This could end up being another Netherlands Spain situation. Germany not hurting from the loss of Reus, and they probably won't be until the later stages of the competition.

How about penalty? The guy touched his arm and Gotze threw himself to the floor like he got shot in the head. Smh

What a horrible, disgusting display by the same team that gave Spain all kinds of fits in 2012. Pathetic.

Müller is eventually the best human being in the universe.

This is like watching the Heat against Spurs this year. Everything around Ronaldo has played like garbage.

I like Emre Belozoglu more than Muller. The guy is so irritating to watch

This post makes it a perfect first half.

This is precisely why i am glad Portugal is not a nation with a strong lobby. All correct decisions, but if the ref had simply made these calls against France, his top level career would've been over.
Im from portugal. All correct decisions? The penalty can go either way , gotze was pulling pereira also. But this red card? Really. I can bet you that if it was on the other side the ref wouldnt call it. Ive never had hopes on this team. Our coach is a bum and this team is ronaldo, coentrao plus scrubs..now , germany doesnt need this to win. But wtv , is usual against us to call this noncense.

Not offensively.
their first two goals came from australia's defense's individual mistakes. it wasn't a dominating performance you'd expect against a team that might have the worst defense in the world cup.
Well, they didn't dominate, I agree. They overachieved, yes. I don't recall a single team that got the ball under control in the box in this tournament more than Chile, and that's a good thing, that doesn't happen in the WC except against teams pedestrian teams like North Korea or Thaiti. They weren't great, but they had tons of possession in the final third on the first half.
A false nine formation would look good in this Portugal team, for instance. Someone to roam around the box creating spaces and confusing for Ronaldo to penetrate off the ball reaching for long passes or crosses - which is exactly what Benzema does best for Madrid.

Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup: Group G (GER/POR/GHA/USA)
Germany and Ghana are getting out of this group imo. Even if Portugal wasn't getting crushed and Pepe wasn't suspended I'd pick Ghana, they have a nice free flowing style about them that'll give other teams trouble.

I was surprised as well, but first he had his arms where they should not be and than his head. Your post sounds like you following your agenda

key word 'legit'.
i would love if you guys went through, i'm just suprised at the level of optimism. i know v little about US soccer, but ghana are no joke, and i seem to remember hearing that they knocked you guys in '10. prior to this performance - it's a pretty tough group.

I actually think you have less changes to go through right now. One of those 2 teams would always lost (or draw) and now one of the teams will be really motivated to do a lot better. I was thinking the better chance for US to pass was if Portugal won and then sleep under that good result.
I don«'t even think US can win against Ghana
