Yeah wasn't looking for a Y/N, just seeing how they equate the value of #3 to one of the more intriguing prospects in the league, the GREEK FREAK, the redraft #1, the sultan of swat, etc. As brought up in this thread, other markets haven't viewed him as much, but nevertheless I found it interesting to read as a parallel to this thread.

If Giannis came out this year, I'd have him comfortably at #2 behind Embiid. No way am I trading him for Wiggins or Parker, and I love both of those guys. He might not get there, but the kid has amazing potential.

No, I wouldn't do it for Wiggins or Parker. I don't think it's a good trade value wise and emotionally I couldn't do it.

Id vote this way but there seems too be no choice for it.

Seems the most obvious answer.

not to mention they don't understand the value giannis has to us and the city of milwaukee

most non-hardcore bucks fans don't understand giannis. because you had to actually watch bucks games this year to see the jaw-dropping missed layups and hockey-assist passes that didn't show up in the box score. they also still don't comprehend that no one thought he should've been playing for about 3 years.

so yes i keep giannis over the 3rd pick, and no i don't give a crap if fans of other teams think i'm crazy

If Giannis had played in the NCAA last year instead of in the pros I think he absolutely would be in the discussion for us at #2. He would have been a monster in college with the skill set he flashed combined with his physical gifts. Much like Embiid, I think he definitely could have overshadowed the much more hyped Wiggins and Parker.

People forget how young he was last year. Giannis was by far the youngest player in the league. The next youngest was Archie Goodwin who is 8 months older than Giannis. Giannis is only 2-3 months older than Wiggins and Parker. He's younger than Embiid and Randle.

Not happening, i would do it but not happily. Its a risk, definetely a risk because it would only take one of the 2 (parker or wiggins) to not pan out and Giannis to be above average for everybody regretting it and being remembered for ages.

And i would believe some GMs wouln't do it because its easier to say no and pretend the offer wasn't made and nobody would talk about it, than say yes and risking being a massive error.

Here is where Giannis starts getting overrated by Bucks fans and underrated by all other fans.

Would I like to trade Giannis for a top 3 pick in this year's draft?

Of course. I would rather use it on Embiid though. The risk is worth the reward.

The talk on the Philly board about the #10 pick is just laughable. The one guy says, "maybe for #10." Maybe? C'mon, get serious!

I really like Giannis he's a very likeable kid but I agree with Profound23 we're not getting a top 3 pick for him he's still to raw and unknown.

This.

His potential added to his infectious personality, smile, and story, can make him, if he starts reaching his potential, the face of the Bucks, if not one of the faces of the league.

The media already loves him.

No, I wouldn't trade him for either.

I definitely liked what I saw from Giannis last year... though probably not as much as some here.

But I think we could look back on this thread and it could be comparable to the "Would you trade Brandon Jennings for Chris Paul?" thread. :D

This really seems the only sensible answer.

Again, does anyone honestly believe a team with a Top 3-4 pick would even consider trading it for Giannis? I think the odds of that are extremely remote. Like Press said, you're talking about two highly touted young prospects, one of whom (Wiggins) was a player the entire world wanted to tank for in this draft for nearly two years.

Can someone who would take Parker or Wiggins over Giannis actually give a reason why, other than "they're really highly touted"?

What exactly does Parker or Wiggins give you that Giannis doesn't that makes them better prospects?

I'm not saying Giannis doesn't have a very high upside, because he does. What I'm saying is that this has been touted as a strong draft for a couple of years now. Parker and Wiggins are both big time prospects with big time upsides.

It's not unreasonable to think that one (or both) of those guys could blow up and be stars while Giannis ends up just being a solid player. Just like it isn't unreasonable to think Giannis will be a star either.

There is just a chance he's the worst player out of the group. Just like I think there is a chance he could turn into the best player out of that group as well.

Or vice versa, I see Giannis skill set allowing him to run an offense, plus he is a much better passing skills than either of the 2. If you are a fan of isolation, one on one basketball Parker is definitely a guy you would trade for and the you get Big Dog II, nothing wrong with that if you want to build a team that way.

Right. I get that.

But this shouldn't be that tough. I like Embiid more than Wiggins because he's 7'1" with great length, has nice touch on his jumper, advanced footwork, and elite athleticism. He was dominant when he was on the court and he looks like someone who could be the best at his position in three years.

So can someone do that for Wiggins and Parker over Giannis?

In Giannis's favor:

• Better height for a 3/4
• Better length
• Better outside shot
• Better playmaking ability
• Aggressive mentality. Wants to dunk it when he gets a sliver of space
• Has shown to be effective vs NBA caliber competition
• Is virtually the same age
• Projects to be a better defender than Parker and has the tools to be better than Wiggins
• Is a very hard worker and has no character flaws

What, from a scouting perspective, makes either Parker or Wiggins a better prospect?

For Wiggins:
-- better height and length aren't really a factot. Wiggins' height and length seem pretty damn good for a 2/3.
-- better outside shot? I don't think that's true now, and I definitely think Wiggins will be the better shooter in 3 years.
-- better playmaker? No argument for Wiggins there.
-- aggressive mentality? I think Wiggins will be very aggressive as a pro. I think he will break out of his shell. To me, college seemed like somethin wWiggins felt like he was forced to do. Could be wrong.
-- obviously Wiggins hasn't shown to be effective in the nba, but I like what I saw in college.
-- tools-wise, i can't agree, other than passing. I think Wiggins has the tools to be a top 5 nba player. I just think his head is questionable. Which is a big deal, but I'd roll the dice on it.
-- Wiggins sure seems to be a hard worker with no character flaws.

We once had a thread comparing bogut to Tim freaking Duncan. We had a thread where me self included would only trade Jennings for lebron. We so over value our players. Gianni's showed some glimpses but overall he did not have a special rookie year. Maybe he becomes a stud, maybe he becomes a diaw. I believe the odds of him becoming an ak47 or a diaw are greater than him becoming a top 10 talent. For that reason alone I gamble and go would trade home for a top 3 pick in this draft. This draft has three tier 1 guys. Anyone that's been tier one has become a multiple time all star. The fact not a single other team would trade a top three pick for him is even more telling. This board is great, but god do we fall in love with players who continue to become mediocre. He smiles though. That improves his stock....
