I agree, or at least if Minny is smart, they would do this. Love is leaving next year for sure, and Minny doesn't get compensation. That Celtics rumored offer looks pretty solid.

Apparently the TWolves aren't looking for draft picks though, they're looking for players. That would mean that the Bulls would probably have a decent shot, since they can send them Taj Gibson, Mirotic, Tony Snell...heck, maybe they take a chance on Derrick Rose? I honestly have no idea, but I feel bad for TWolves fans. Flip was a disaster at developing the young talent on the Wizards. If he was a strong leader he could have turned some of those kids into good players. Now it might happen all over again. I hope that he's improved as a coach since his last stop.

I'll guess the first Piston trade under the Van Gundy Regime will be to acquire the #27 Phoenix First Rounder on Draft Night.

If Minnesota wants players and not picks, than I think Golden State is the favorite.

I just hope we trade into the first round. I really want to go and get KJ McDaniels after seeing what Kawhi has been able to accomplish

I'm thinking we get a trade on Monday or Tuesday. Embiid's foot injury puts a lot of question marks on the top of the draft. I still see the Celtics, Lakers and Kings looking at trade possibilities. Not sure if SVG wants to see his new team before making any trades. Seems like he has been watching a LOT of film, so he should know enough. Problem for us is that we're trading low with Jennings or Smith right now. If we get off to a good start, their trade value goes up significantly.

If the Warriors truly add Klay Thompson in a trade scenario to get K.Love I think the Warriors should have a competitive offer.

Thompson, Barnes, Lee+1st rounder picks for Love+filler, sounds pretty solid man.

Just saw that. Agreed. Thompson is nice, but if you can get Love, you got to make that trade.

Good haul for Minnesota there, I wonder if teams that missed out on Love will look to Monroe and Smith here now. Or will James opting out be the new hold up to any moves being made.

I like Love / Martin / Budinger (TPE) / Barea (TPE) for Thompson / Barnes / Lee

That pairs Love & Curry and allows the TWolves to have a deep lineup plus ~$10 mil of cap room to go after Stephenson or Hayward.

Pek, Lee, Barnes, Klay, Rubio is nothing to be ashamed of

Bogut, Love, Green/Iggy, Iggy/Martin, Curry looks pretty impressive too.

Going to be an interesting off-season...Although I don't think we'll be all that busy once the Monroe situation is done

That would be a pretty exciting team, and could be a good defensive team as well.

Minnesota seems to be stubbornly holding onto Love, hoping he'll have a change of heart.

Are there any trades already queued up and ready to happen, or will this have to wait until draft night? And of course, will we be making any trades this summer?

Per Moose

“From what I have been told, it'll be like that (college recruiting) a little bit,” Monroe told the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “But the NBA has really strict rules, and you can't talk about it until July 1. Different things come out about teams who are interested, but I won't know for sure until July 1, when I can actually talk to them.”

So i think once July 1 comes, and offers are being made , teams will have a better idea of what assets to hold onto and release in a trade. RFA i believe are the most sought after commodity

Could Detroit allow Monroe to talk to other teams? Like how coaches under contract are allowed to talk to other teams with permission.

He can't talk to any team until July 1, and/or can't talk about it til July 1. He's a RFA, meaning he doesn't need Detroits permission to talk to other teams

^Yeah, but if Detroit and Moose agreed to part ways and Detroit was keen on adding a draft pick from this years draft COULD they allow Moose to talk to other teams with their permission to do so - like is done with coaches under contract - before July 1st?

The team is not keeping him from talking to other teams but rather the league

This. It's part of their draconian recruiting rules.

I'm certain that teams that are interested in Monroe are absolutely having talks with his agent.

I believe "tampering" happens all year round.

GMs talk to each other about a variety of scenarios...and they talk to agents all year round...and agents talk to players & other agents all year round...and players talk to other players all year round

It's only tampering if someone complains
