Adams is Waiters Lite with a chance to be a better all around player.

Apparently MJ attended PJ Hairston's second workout.

“Having the best basketball player ever watching and knowing it’s up to him to make the decision is just a big thing for me,” Hairston said after his second Hornets’ pre-draft workout in two weeks. “And knowing he went to Carolina and we both bleed Carolina Blue is also special.

This has me thinking they might not go with a SG at 9, so no Stauskas maybe.

“He has a feel for how to score,” Clifford said of Hairston. “He can shoot with range and put the ball on the floor. He’s strong and physical, which will allow him to stay with his game early in his career. He has an NBA body and NBA strength.”

Hairston does have a lot of firepower. Hopefully he won't leave it in any rental cars belonging to criminals.

i doubt we are going to make any decisions about who we take at 9 based on the idea that someone we like might be available at 24.

This is true. I'm being paranoid. But I feel if Stauskas is off they will have to do more to make sure they get Hairston imo. So I hope this isn't an indication they suspect Stauskas will be gone. Definitely paranoid. I feel like Mr KIA with his Cho paranoia. He likes to call it 'skepticism' so I 'll do that.

I wouldn't be paranoid, the team is just keeping all options open. For example, if Randle falls because of his foot issuees, it would be hard for Cho to pass him up. Drafting Randle at 9 doesn't solve the 3pt issues so Hairston is an obvious choice for the 24th.

If we take Stauskas, that could open up different possibilities at the 24 and Cleanthony Early is someone I would really like to have.
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere

:nonono: :nonono: You guys are not listening to what Coach Cliffords comments say between the lines.
He really likes TJ Warren and Afflalo (Orl) We trade #9 for #12 and he gets both starters at 2 and 3. Then at 24 he drafts a PG. At 45 a C/PF. PJ will be long gone by 24.

What has Clifford said that makes you think he wants to draft Warren to be a starter?

Warren is not going to replace MKG in the starting lineup. He is at best an average defender.

P.J. Hairston

High-end: John Salmons. This one may seem a little low, but Salmons was a big-time perimeter shooter with size who averaged 18.3 points in 2008-09, 15.4 points in 2009-10 and 14 points in 2010-11.

Low-end: Jodie Meeks. He can flat-out shoot the ball from downtown, and that's what Hairston will be able to do. Meeks has been primarily a role guy, but excelled this past season with a decimated Lakers team.

:offtopic:

Jordan Adams

High-end: James Harden. Adams isn't as athletic as Harden, but he uses angles like the Rockets star, and just has a knack for scoring. This is an extremely high-end comp.

Low-end: Wayne Ellington. He was picked at the end of the 2009 draft and has been a reserve for most of his career as a guy who can make shots. Adams has a more well-rounded offensive game.

If we traded back from 9 to 12 and moved Hendo for AA then draft Warren and Hairston we would have a great set of wings. Start AA and MKG for to pair well and Hairston and Warren pair well. Sign a backup PG and bring back McRoberts and we could have good future pieces as well as some win now.

That would be so meh. If Charlotte just wanted a knock down 3-point shooter, they could easily sign Anthony Morrow this offseason. They need to draft players with versatility and upside. T.J. Warren would all for certain mean that MKG need to be traded or he himself will be eventually traded because they don't offset each other at all

Or if Clifford is telling the truth when he says he is going to expand roles and rotations those could be your three future wings. All can play off each other especially is Warren shoots more like he did as a freshman. MKG switches back and forth between SG and SF with the other two shooting and scoring for his slashing. Plus if we wanted big offense Hairston and Warren can play together. The three all have skill sets that would come in handy. All can play good defense and both Warren and Hairston score in many ways.

As much as this team need shooting or a better outlook for their future at PF than Zeller, I don't think Warren should fall into their category of interest as the 1st pick. They have to address their dire needs by taking a dead-eye 3-point shooter, a 3-point shooter that has a scorer's mentality, or a power forward with the first choice, and then address depth with the latter picks

So we would acquire three wings while still having holes at PG and PF? Talk about over-correcting a problem.

If we pick up Afflalo I want 24 to be used for a backup PG if we can snag one of Ennis or Napier (or Payton if he falls).

We only have AA for one year. So what I did was give a year for Hairston to be a backup and then he can move to the starting lineup year two. Warren fills a need for scoring that we desperately lacked. I would love to get a backup pg in the draft too. We did not have an extra pick for that so I decided better to get a veteran backup PG in this setup. Resign McRoberts and this draft and we are solid next season with money to spend to fill those holes.

I don't even think the Magic are interested in dealing Afflalo & #12 for Henderson & #9. I've been told that they intend to make a playoff push this season. Why would they want to make a playoff push with Henderson and his additional year under contract? I don't think moving up 3 slots mean that much to them when most of the picks in that range are give & take on what they could be

They still wouldn't want to downgrade in talent and ruin continuity in the same swoop though. I just think that trade offer is a facade that may have been inquired about, but after further thinking I'm sure Hennigan opted not to take it seriously
