It is fairly clear they are trying to exert maximum pressure on Ainge right now with all these media leaks. Guessing Ainge is playing hardball and has not even come close to offering (yet) what has been reported.

Trade for a guy with a 14 PER that expects a max contract at the end of the year while winning enough games to lose next year's draft pick. Ainge must be laughing right now.

I would disagree and agree with that at the same time. I watched almost every TWolves game that was on TV last year and Dieng is a great help defender while Pek (and KLove) are horrible help defenders. Where Dieng lacks is with man-to-man defense (which is what Pek is good at). Dieng got abused by Cousins and other big centers where Pek actually owned Cousins most of the time. If Dieng can add strength and improve his man-to-man defense, we would be in great shape.

I also think Pek is a smarter defender at this point of his career than Gorgui. Gorgui can be a little over anxious. But that's why I'd like to keep both, it's possible that Gorgui is our center of the future but I don't trust him enough yet to dump Pek.

Dieng knows he has to add strength and has been hitting the gym. I think he's going to be find by the end of the year...probably won't ever be the man defender that Pekovic in his ability to prevent people to get where they want to be but decent enough to greatly impact the overall defense.

That is as fair as you'll ever get.

Two years ago, not last season

I'm not sure they're trying to put pressure on the Celtics...#6 is not a guarantee. #3 would have been.

I feel the same way. If we traded with GS I would prefer to start Dieng with Lee and have Pek off the bench for his offense since our bench couldn't score last year. Against teams where Dieng can't handle the other teams' starting center we could swap and start Pek instead.

Sources: Twolves & Warriors discussing Possible trade: KLove, KMartin, JJBarea, 13th pick for Klay Thompson and David Lee

Chris Broussard.

This deal is awful for the Wolves.

Well I'm crossing off Broussard from my "guys to listen to" list...for the 50th time.

He's not a great fit with our other players, though.

If he's not a great roster fit and we can't trade him because we won't get anything good in return, I fail to see how he's ever neutral trade filler.

I'm not completely opposed to the deal simply because of Thompson, but I'm not too fond of acquiring Lee.

Agree. He's overpaid, but at the same time while he's a downgrade from Kevin Love, he's not a huge downgrade. Less points and rebounds, but still in the 20-10 realm. Someone like Thompson improves us big time at SG, so I would live with the downgrade at PF.

As far as tread milling, with the exception of one year with KG that's pretty much his time with us. The difference is there really wasn't anything to develop around him, the picks to do so, and a coherent FA plan (McHale calls up 3 guys and says MLE is there for whomever signs first). Right now even with our issues I think there's still a lot more potential for internal and external growth.

If Flip makes that deal, I swear...I stop caring about this franchise. I'm joining the GSW bandwagon.

Last I checked, Broussard isn't on the team's payroll. How is his tweet a reflection of the franchise's supposed incompetence?

We're talking about Flip Saunders. The guy that dealt Mike Miller and Foye for Rubio. This guy is so incompetent.

There's no way that deal works financially is there?

EDIT: Yes, the Warriors have a huge TPE

Doesn't work numbers wise I believe. Now while I think we do a have the ability to screw things up and include a pick or anothe good piece besides Love, there's a lot of pieces outside the main 2 on either side that are likely to get mentioned.
