Nothing about him interests me. His ceiling will be a role player off the bench in the NBA, and that's certainly not worth his salary.

Monroe, Jennings and a future first round for Rondo? I think Celtics wouldn't do it, but maybe we got one chance.

The Celtics aren't going to move Rondo, they are trying to look for someone to put next to him, but I'll go down your rabbit hole. Best we can offer for Rondo:

Rondo / Jeff Green / Gerald Wallace

for

Monroe / KCP / Singler / Jerebko / Bynum / '15 unprotected 1st (done after the draft)

Sign Jodie Meeks & Jordan Hill

Rondo / Jennings / Siva
Meeks
Green / Wallace / Datome
Smith / Mitchell
Drummond / Hill / Harrellson

Detroit should do that if BK offers it. Frees up long term cap, and adds two guys (Thornton and Teletovic) who have shooting skills we could use right now. Only downside is that it limits who we can add this summer. Unless we cut someone:

Jennings / Bynum / Siva / Teague
KCP / Thornton / Boganovic or #38
Singler / Jerebko / Gigi
Monroe / Teletovic / Mitchell
Drummond / Harrellson

Enough "shooters" to potentially space things out (KCP, Thornton, Singler, Gigi, Teletovic), and while that might not be a playoff team next season, it's set up well moving forward (Monroe/Drummond, cap flexibility, and all of our future picks).

I'd do it, my only comment is I understand Boganovic may never play in the NBA.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Nets would love this deal. Pistons wouldn't do it.

Why wouldn't we do this deal ?
I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

Why wouldn't we do this deal ?

We'll be left without a starting caliber 1. And this free agency period isn't that sexy with PG's, might as well keep Jennings.

We don't have one now.

Rebuilding Plan take #938

Multiple deals would need to take place to make it work but essentially we would move:
Jennings - Monroe - Bynum for Holiday and Evans

New Orleans dumps Evans 12M deal on us in exchange for taking on Jennings and getting a hometown C to put next to Davis.

We get our starting PG and spend the rest of our FA money on Hayward or Parsons.

Holiday / Siva
Evans / KCP
Hayward - Parsons / Singler
Smith / Mitchell
Drummond / Harrelson

Let's agree to disagree on that one. 8-) Jennings averaged over 8apg while Cheeks was coaching and now he's not a starting caliber 1. Come on man. :-?

That's a lot, but the deal sounds good to me.

Lakers are talking about dealing Nash and #7 for Thad Young and MCW

Which means had we kept our pick we could very well have traded #7/8 for MCW and Thad Young with no one going back.

Thanks Dumars :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Smith Jennings is a so much better offer than that, so if we're going to get a first round, I think we could get it like that.

Smith and Jennings are both not expiring deals

They are saving Philly money AND giving them a top #10 pick in a loaded draft

People are saying on twitter that the Bulls are in deep pursuit of a Melo S&T and are offering up their two 1st round picks this year in exchange for future 1st rd picks, in an attempt to shed salary without having to dump Gibson.

Would you trade a future #1 to get a #1 in this draft?

So I guess if the Celtics can't land Love or Melo then they are considering going into full rebuild by trading Rondo and Green. Ainge also said they already have a specific team ready to take Green if it happens.

Do you guys think we are that team and would you like it? Then just resign Monroe and sign a low cost shooter like Morrow or Fredette.

Jennings/Siva
KCP/Morrow
Green/Singler
Monroe/Smith
Drummond/Harrelson

Could be a solid team for next season while we continue to shop Smith and try to upgrade at PG.

In that scenario, for who we get Green?

PHX is also shopping their #27 for a future first. PHX one is too late to matter, as the player there will not be much different in caliber than our own player at #38 - I'd buy the pick but wouldn't want to give up a future first rounder even with heavy protection as it was pointed out to me that by giving up that future first it prevents us from including a first in any other trade until it is sent.

Now I would have interest in the Bulls picks and willing to pay a future first as we could put less protection on it meaning it would be sent over sooner. But I bet the Bulls will find takers outside the division/conference here even if Pistons were interested.
