Thats the only reason I can ascertain for the lack of Ben Simmons mentions in this thread. Seems to be going OK at the current camp for someone who flew in from Australia 2 days prior.

we all know about Ben and im sure i've mentioned him myself in some of the earlier pages in this thread. Ben is a given though and probably one of if not my favorite prospect(s) coming into the league over the next few years.

But feel free to add however you feel about him to spark some convo/debate.

simmons has this level figured out. he has a very mature game, but when i watch him he leaves me wanting more. for the most part his offensive game consists of transition finishes, put-backs and finishing dump offs. he mixes in the occasional short, straight-line drive and jumper, but not enough to give me the impression that he's a future SF. if he's a PF, which is what his game resembles more of, he's gonna have to get tougher on the interior on both ends and get down that mid-range J so he can transition to being a face up 4. if he's going to be a SF he has to improve his handle, gain some quickness and work on that 3 ball. don't get me wrong, he's very good for his class and he produces extremely well seemingly without even breaking a sweat, but he's a tweener forward ATM which makes his projection a little tougher than say, i.rabb. if we're just ranking the class for what they are now, he's top 2, but if we're ranking in terms of NBA potential, i'd probably have him further down on the list because i don't know what he's gonna be at the next level.

funny you mentioned his NBA potential because I thinking of a top 25 or even a 1st round so to speak of potential NBA talent outside of this 2014 draft and i couldn't figure out where to rank him. I love Ben's game but I agree with a lot of what you've stated here. I think he'll be a stretch four after he's done growing and I think he'll flourish at that but as it stands he hasn't yet put on that size so I dunno where I'd rank him amongst this upcoming season of college talent and the up and coming talent in his class and beyond with NBA potential.

Like i said I love the kid's game but can I really say he'll be a better pro than a Josh Jackson or Jaylen Brown or Manny Mudiay.

Still wrapping my head around it but I'm thinking of posting my list in this thread fairly soon at least the ones i'm sure of. Won't be many internationals in there though because I don't know enough about them.

Feel free to give some insight if you got any.

pj is very good. another kid in this class who was imo was unfairly downgraded due to injury (tore his acl). he's another one of those kids who grew up as a PG then had a later growth spurt, retaining his skills and instincts. just a couple yrs ago he was a 6'er now he's close to 6'7 it seems. he's got all the ball skills. can shoot, handle and pass. wirey, long, albeit thin. good athlete prior to his injury and is just now getting it back. high iq player with solid playmaking instincts. i don't know if he's a point anymore, but he can handle it for stretches. i expect him to climb back up the rankings after the evaluators see him in action again and see that his athleticism is back.
as an nba prospect, i think he could be the 2nd best SG in this class. the only real concern i have about him is his thin frame.

yeah he looked pretty fluid to me and that height and pace were also appealling. Like what i saw from him and did some research on Ray Smith after you guys mentioned him earlier in the thread. Found him and a couple others on that Dream Vision squad to be rather impressive.

Dwayne Bacon is the revelation of the NBA top 100 camp and most sites are saying he is worthy of a 5 *. I always thought of him as a poorman's Tyreke Evans. Opinions?

haven't seen enough of him. his aau team doesn't play on a major aau circuit so there isn't much footage outside of the usual mixes, which...his team's are quite ridiculous if you've seen what i'm talking about.

yep. he's pesky, super quick and disruptive. really digs in. i've read that he attacks marquee individual matchups, both to good and sometimes bad results. im sure he took it to smith jr.

both he and seventh are good defensive PGs. seventh is stronger and more solid though. that was the 1 thing i was really impressed with during woods' performance with team usa. he's really solid defensively already.

yeah i think that will be an element of Seventh's game that no matter what he will be able to rely on at any level. The way he hounds gives him an Avery Bradley (few years back) floor at worst. He's a pitbull, high energy, stays active, seems to defend like he's got something to prove which i like.

isn't dude like at least a year or 2 older than everybody else at the event? a year old for his class or something? clips make him look like a grown man playing against kids. then his bio seems to confirm it.

maybe im buggin. but going INTO your high school senior year at 19 seems old to me.

I thought Ben Simmons was old for the class but Bacon has like 7 months on Ben. Rabb just turned 17 in Feb. hell Jahlil Okafor is going into his FRESHMAN YEAR in COLLEGE and Bacon has 4 months on him.

Nah son he old.

yeah Bacon damn near a grown man out there so he should be physically impressive out there similar to how Ben has been. Watching the clips I can see the Tyreke comparison, would like to see him in a more organized set and see what he brings to the table in terms of bball IQ, shot selection, and how well he can play off the ball.
