Here is what I am not understanding. Going into Thursday, the mock draft sites, in addition to people on this Board, were not in consensus that we would even take Exum at 4. So how did a consensus all of a sudden form that he would go in the top 3 with Embiid's injury? If Parker/Wiggins go 1 and 2, wouldn't the 76ers be in the same boat as us in terms of Exum/Smart/Vonleh? They could go with the latter 2.

Philly's HC coached Exum in Australia. So that possibility is very much in play. 2 PG backcourts are more popular now than ever before. They desperately want Wiggins, but if CLE doesn't take him at 1, MIL will.

Would the Sixers take Vonleh at 3???

I agree. Which is why it's going to piss me off even more when they draft him. Most teams wouldn't draft 2 PG's in back to back years, especially after one just won ROY. But they want to play cute with the draft. I'm salty.

I think people are dismissing Smart to Philly but I got a feeling he will get picked by them. IDK why just a feeling.

Hinkie is an advanced stats nerd and Smart has the best advanced stats out of everyone in the draft so I could see it.

Exactly. Actually 3 if you count Ty Lawson (who they traded to Denver). And passed on both Stephen Curry and Jrue Holiday. A team probably shouldn't be modeling their draft strategy after the Wolves.

Are you guessing Exum's MIL workout didn't go well, or did you see it mentioned somewhere?

If Phil stays at 3, I've seen they may give serious consideration to Vonleh and hope to trade up for Smart.

My Exum to Orlando faith is strong.

Sort of pieced together between him not wanting to do interviews with the MIL media and the MIL brass talking about how much they like Parker because he's expressed how happy he would be playing there. I don't think MIL wants to draft a guy who could likely bolt as soon as his rookie contract is over. Getting talent to come/stay there is the crux of their problems. Early Exum rumors around the Lakers/Magic probably didn't excite them either.

Well that's what I'm saying... I don't think they think he is BPA. Also, BPA is a very fluid and varying definition/opinion. Especially when you're talking about the 2nd overall pick. Consensus is that Wiggins/Parker are 1 and 2, so if you think Exum is BPA then I would question how you're coming up with that.

Take a look at these 2 threads in the Bucks section:

Official #2 Pick Thread - BP says it's down to AW/JP

Will you be disappointed if the Bucks take Parker or Wiggins

All the reports we have claim that Philly's board looks like:

1) Wiggins
2a) Parker
2b) Exum

With Wiggins and Parker all but guaranteed to be the top two picks, it appears Exum is now set for the #3 spot if the 76ers stay at #3.

Figured I'd chime in as a Bucks fan. All the reports about Exum's workout said that he impressed the Bucks. We have one reporter, Gery Woelfel (basically the Skip Bayless of Bucks reporting), who threw a fit when Exum wouldn't talk to the media, but other than that it was all positive.

Also are you aware of restricted free agency? Players just don't turn down a guaranteed $60-$80 million dollars (more by the time Exums rookie contract ends) in favor of the qualifying offer. I'd be shocked if Exum (or any player) turned down a max contract if it's on the table, way too much of an injury risk. Any player the Bucks take they'll almost certainly have for 8/9 years. And Exum already responded to the LA thing at the combine saying reporters twisted his words (although maybe that was just PR speak since he knows it's unlikely he drops to the 7th pick).

Not that it matters for us because the Bucks will almost certainly take Parker or Wiggins depending on who Cleveland selects. Just thought I'd give my 2 cents as a big Exum fan (and one who was hoping the Bucks would take him). Hopefully you guys land him because I'd love to see him and Tobes on the fast break in the future. Anyways, good luck in the draft, you guys have a really bright future regardless of who you take.

I would be quite happy with a half healthy Embiid, to be honest with you. I don't mind waiting for him to get healthy.

What was the reason why he wouldn't talk to the media?

Restricted FA is nice when a team drafts well enough to take advantage of it. Just looking back at the last 8/9 years that hasn't been kind to the Bucks. We both know they are taking the available one between Wiggins/Parker, but I believe that is the case because the Bucks are afraid of taking the "mystery man" of the draft. They can't afford to repeat a Yi Jianlian experiment using a Top pick. They have to get a Superstar even if that means taking one at a position where you already have promise in Giannis.

Can I ask you a question? Why Exum over Smart?
