maybe im buggin. but going INTO your high school senior year at 19 seems old to me.

I thought Ben Simmons was old for the class but Bacon has like 7 months on Ben. Rabb just turned 17 in Feb. hell Jahlil Okafor is going into his FRESHMAN YEAR in COLLEGE and Bacon has 4 months on him.

Nah son he old.

Wow 19....

Still a ton of 18 years old in that 2015 class.

yeah Bacon damn near a grown man out there so he should be physically impressive out there similar to how Ben has been. Watching the clips I can see the Tyreke comparison, would like to see him in a more organized set and see what he brings to the table in terms of bball IQ, shot selection, and how well he can play off the ball.

I'm wondering when scouts will switch over to an age based ranking like in International?

i could be to harsh here. but 19 heading into senior year tells me he might have been left back. which then tells me he's not that bright or doesn't apply himself. which then tells me he'll have low IQ or isn't willing to learn what's necessary to improve it.

Looks like if you take the ball out his hands he'll make it very possible to forget he's even on the floor.

obviously i don't know the circumstances and could be wrong about it all. but its the first thing i thought when i saw how old that kid is.

Getting held back on purpose to get an athletic advantage is nothing new. That's what this whole re classifying craze is all about. Kids get held back early in grade school to get an edge, then eventually reclassify into their original class. Some don't reclassify though and stay old for their class, but to be that old they'd have to be held back twice...Or start school late AND be held back.

maybe its just a late start. just think its odd that he'll "graduate" high school a few months before his 20th birthday. he's two weeks older than one lotto prospect this year and just one week behind another.

Anyway not overly impressed with what i saw. need to see more.

So I was discussing Rysheed Jordan with some people and basically got backlash because "guards who shoot 28% from 3 aren't lottery candidates"

I explained his jump shot has tons of potential and big PGs like Marcus Smart, Elfrid Payton, Rubio and MCW all either went lottery or are likely to. Somehow that didn't make sense because "Marcus Smart shot 29% from 3 AS A SOPHOMORE and hasn't been drafted yet." Basically, I need to limit who I talk basketball with :-?

Yeah, I saw some of his post and watched a few games because of it. Liked what I saw. Just sad some "basketball fans" analysis is basically looking at boxscores of players they have self-admittedly never watched :noway:

Anyways, looking forward to watching him at SJU, though they lost a lot.

yeah sheed's my guy. i know coaches tend to hype up their players, but lavin said that he's the most gifted guard he's ever coached and he's coached baron davis.
most likely a statement made in the moment, but sheed is very talented. he's got good size, strength, athleticism, creativity, footwork, defends well, drive and dish playmaking and he actually has a nice pull up. he does have a slight pause at the top of his jumper, so that's a bit of a concern, but it isn't too egregious. i just like the fact that he's a physical specimen type PG, but plays with good patience. he plays at those in b/t speeds that bodes well for PnR play. as a finisher he has the strength and body control, but he also has the presence of mind to know that he has to dupe help defenders too with eurosteps and fakes.

i'll be interested to see how lavin distributes minutes this yr as they still have a deep, experienced back court. also, playing alongside d'angelo harrison can be a challenge too since he's so shot happy.
