Announcing the retirement of legendary Mod John Black (Phil)

Post#1 » by Danny Darko » Fri Jun 20, 2014 4:16 pm

Ladies & Gentleman- please join me in the celebration of a board hero.

Rudy_T aka Phil 2.0 aka Phil X & Phil XI aka John Black has announced his retirement from the General and Laker boards after many years of heavy lifting for us.

When the board was cast into utter chaos and Mongolian Warlords, Suns Fans, Heat Homers, and general rif-raff, were running amok- he helped stabilize things with his steady hand (one hand is steady, actually, but the other is like Michael J Fox on 3 red bulls and a caramel macchiato). When the General board was filled with Laker hating weirdo Mods, he was our Laker loving weirdo mod.

What's more he's Dashing!:

His lady is smoking hot!:

His car looks like this!:

Spoiler:
2 out of 3 aint bad

The good news is JB should be joining us here more as a poster as he cools off from the white hot glow of exiting the General Board's atmosphere. Can you hear me Major John?

Thank you for your service sir!

He can hold his breath for an hour without straining... Doesn't poop.
Only eats because he chooses to. And only drinks the fermented tears of virgin fairies...

But he was an OK mod.

Here's hoping being relatively useless as just a poster, brings you all the happiness you're looking for.

Love,
Kilroy

This man spent alot of his own valuable time helping promote healthy discussion on RealGM. He really put in alot of effort to make this an online community where Lakers fans can feel welcomed instead of constantly harassed like in most corners of the web. Personally I have alot of respect for Phil for what he's accomplished online and in his personal life.

Now that you'll have more relaxation time on your hands, Phil, I expect a golf meet up in Diego one of these days! I'll have your retirement gift ready for you when we do hit the links!

Thanks for your sacrifices man, and enjoy your new found spare time!

Damn...I was expecting him to assume the name "Mitch Kupchak" next.

Anyway you did well JB.

John Black led the effort and many of our mods tried to address that issue, but basically it fell on deaf ears. We'll still fight it, but my advice to everyone is stay on the Lakers forum. Or don't be controversial on the other forums.
Basically take a while to get a feel for the other forum and it's politics before you post.
