Everyone saying Cleveland would be stupid too pass on him has no idea what they're talking about. Embiid has been my favorite prospect in this draft for 6 months, but you CANNOT TAKE HIM OVER WIGGINS AND PARKER. Noel slipped to 6th with less health concerns. And while Embiid is a much better prospect that Noel, Parker/ Wiggins/ Exum are all much better prospects than Bennett, Oladipo and Porter.

If the Celtics dont get Love, I think the no-brainer move is to take Embiid and trade Rondo...Possibly to LA for Nash and #7, then take Randle

Damaged goods for sure. Some team will still take the gamble in the top 5.

So how much is that? 5, 10 dollars?

If he falls at 7, I'm hoping Lakers risk their pick on him.

3) Philly would probably pass given they went through this last year with Nerlens and they play the same position. Doesn't seem wise to pass on someone who can be relied upon with all star potential for another center reclamation project. Take Exum who's got insane potential and be done. Vonleh probably gets consideration as does Gordon and Randle. It'll make it easier to rationalize passing on JoJo because it's not impossible to find him there at 10 (though I think odds are beyond slim).

Hinkie doesn't pass up talent for fit. Hinkie takes calculated risks (see Noel). If all these experts projects Embiid to be fully healthy after 3-6 mos., it won't stop Hinkie from drafting him. Who is he passing up with the third overall pick anyway? Exum? A guy that plays the same position with MCW.

Sixers has Noel and the 10th pick (Aaron Gordon as per DX), as additions to add interests and sell tickets next season. Sixers isn't a hurry and can afford to wait on a talented player like Embiid.

MCW
James Anderson?
Thad
Aaron Gordon
Noel

Then Embiid, their 2015 lotto player and 20+m cap player (not sure) in 2015-2016 season.

How can the experts say he'll be find after 3-6 months? It's impossible to determine how a guy comes back. But what is actual verifiable fact is that inury concerns have been lingering over him for the past 4 months and this just esclates what everyone else fears.. a kid who's played 3-4 years or basketball has two very concerning injury issues (foot and back). So Maybe Hinkie is wiling to add a center to the roster but given all the red flags and the other good options, I'd think Embiid is not in Philly.

I dont think he should drop based on this injury. Stress fracture injuries is not like other injuries that can become chronic. What ever you thought of him before the injury should be the same afterwards. Personally I do not think of him ahead of parker or wiggins. But to say this injury changes your mind about his ability is dumb.

repeated stress fractures in the feet have destroyed careers such as Bill Walton and Yao Ming, stress fractures may be different than other injuries, but in the feet for an NBA player it could be a sign of major future problems. Anybody who ignores them and takes him top 3 deserves to be fired if it becomes career ending in a couple of years.

Chicago Simeon Career Academy forward Jabari Parker, the nation's No. 1-ranked senior, has a fracture in his right foot, his father said Thursday.

Parker injured his foot while playing for Team USA in the FIBA U17 World Championship tournament in Lithuania. He played sparingly throughout most of the tournament and sat out one game.

nobody brings up parkers fracture. why cant that be fireable?

Hmmm, I dont know what Yao Ming and Walton did to cause reoccuring problems and maybe other related leg issues cause the fracture in the first place. But It is not normal for player or person to not heal completely. I know Big Z had issues that caused the stress fracture.

Because Parker has shown that he is relativly healthy since then, in the last 4 months or so Embiid has had a back issue, and a foot issue, plus avoided the predraft combine where every team would have access to his medical tests, meaning there is very limited information out there about his true health, and with the lack of information on how he will recover and how his meds check out a team is taking a huge risk, if you draft him outside of the top 5 that is understandable, but passing on 1 of the other top 3 players in this draft and having his injuries destroy his career can easily destroy a GM.

Also you better believe if Parker busts out of the league and the 2 or 3 guys after him have a great career that the GM that drafts him will be fired, it happens all the time in the league.
