It would take Sanders to get the deal done. Otherwise I'd rather put in the deal Henson.

Additionally, I'm 50-50 on whether Sanders needs to be out of that locker-room next year or not. I think if we end up with Wiggins, I'm more for dumping Larry. If it is Jabari, he's a better compliment to Larry, and I think Jabari takes over leadership of the team and keeps Larry in line.

I think the Lakers might prefer Henson. Way cheaper and allows them to full their roster with other pieces before they have to decide on him and Knight.

If we end up with Wiggins, I want to see the team filled with shooters and good passing. That said, if we trade with the Lakers I'd love to get Marshall put in the deal as well. He's good at both.

Henson, Knight, 31 for Nash, 7, Marshall. Zaza & 36 for Perk & 21. Waive Perkins.

Nate Wolters/Kendall Marshall
Andrew Wiggins/Nik Stauskas (7)
Giannis Antetokounmpo/Khris Middleton
Ersan Ilyasova/Kyle Anderson (21, possibly wishful thinking)
Sanders/Tavares or Mcgary (48)

That would be such a fun team to watch. Spacing and ball movement would be a thing of beauty. If Nash didn't retire, I could see him having a better year than most think. Playing with Kobe was not ideal for him.

Eta: with a new coach that understands basketball of course.

What is the cap ramifications for the Lakers if they take on Sanders?

If they want to sign one or even two marquee free agents in the next few years that matters a whole lot.

That's also why I think young players who can win now and improve later like Knight / Middleton / Henson would hold disproportionate value for them.

The casual fan and every sports radio personality in Milwaukee would spontaneously combust if we passed on Wiggins...for Exum.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

I think our owners will be much more concerned about how we play when the season starts vs what the casual fan thinks at draft time.

Exum and Giannis sure seem like they would be an exciting duo right out of the gate.

Similarly, if we take Wiggins, we desperately need a PG who can run up and down with them.

If we do the Lakers trade I really hope we convince Nash to play. Let him lace them up whenever he wants and log however many minutes he likes.

That is a non issue. The 1st time Exum shows he is legit they will forget about Wiggins.

Is it just me or is anyone else extremely nervous about the Bucks actually taking Exum at 2 infront of either Parker or Wiggins? I just feel like because of the Bucks track record they will screw this up. Someone please re-assure me that we wont do that. I know BP said its between Wigg and Parker but I still feel like we might do it with everyone coming out and saying how much we like him

Well, if he's the better player as far as they're concerned,... then I will applaud them for having the guts to make that decision.

If cap-space isn't an issue as far as the Lakers are concerned then I'd try to pull one over on Jimmy Buss and see if they'd take some Mayo back in a deal for 7 (Knight included). Sell them on how much happier, conditioned and focused he'd be in California. After all he wanted to join the Clippers before settling for Milwaukee. Unlikely but worth a shot.

I'd be kinda upset if Wiggins was there and we took Exum but I'd understand it. Exum could very well end up the best player in this draft. For people who say he hasn't played any type of real competition, you must then condemn the Giannis pick and demand we trade him for Shane Larkin.

Honestly, I won't even be upset if we take Exum. The only way I'm upset on draft day is if we take someone outside of those top 4 prospects (still including Embiid for now).

For all his faults, we have heard Hammond is respected league wide for his eye for talent.

And in the context of his giant win scouting euro talent with Giannis, if he's convinced about Exum, I could see our owners taking that extremely seriously.

This is my issue though. If they do want Exum they better atleast try and trade down and pick up another lottery pick, Exp. Magic 4 and 12. Exum will be there at 4 because philly isn't stupid enough to pass on wiggins

How would Wiggins make it to 3 in this scenario?

It was a bit ago since he posted it and things might have changed, but with Embiid shaking up the draft I'm thinking more about who BuckPack was referring to here:

BuckPack wrote:Hammond has a crush on a player that's a unanimous 5-9 pick. Interestingly, I'm not sure where he'd fit if Parker is the pick.

On the face of it, it seems like Vonleh, Randle, McDermott, Gordon, and Saric might all be in contention.

If it's Gordon, the Celtics potentially ending up with Embiid might make him more available than he would have been otherwise if we can get the Lakers or Kings pick.

It would be pretty awesome to walk away with Wiggins one of those guys but I really want smart. I just feel like he is DWAde 2.0
