If they want to sign one or even two marquee free agents in the next few years that matters a whole lot.

That's also why I think young players who can win now and improve later like Knight / Middleton / Henson would hold disproportionate value for them.

Good points. I believe they want to make one more run with Kobe before his legs fall off, but they have limits on their ammunition. #7, Nash's contract, Pau's contract (which they got no bites on last year)

This is good news, no?

Yup, this is a win-win. Still have Wiggins as the preferred but would be really happy if Exum gets the nod.

Interesting insider talk on the Kings board:

We are in talks with Phoenix & Milwaukee also the t-wolves about Love however that is very unlikely unless G.S. takes Thompson back off the table .

Thomas is already half way out the door .

With phoenix we are in talks to get E.Bledsoe & with the Bucks we are looking at possibly getting B.Knight & Sanders

I love how you post these statements. Miraculous that I've read these "rumors" through different online sites and even in RealGM forums as trade ideas. I recall you stating before that you have your source but hasn't the Kings front office changed since you started making these "insider comments"? I'm assuming "your source" was retained from the previous regime.

What I say is the truth . Yes I have a source & yes was with the organization then & still is now . I do not reveal sources as if I did it would prevent them from trusting me !
I find it amazing how a lot of posts I make you attempt to bash me . Seems like you have a personal vendetta . Don't know why & I don't care . Seems like if you don't believe me you could just avoid responding rather than try to bash or start drama . Again I don't care .

Yes my statement per source is truthful . Personally I hadn't been on in awhile though I heard about most of this close to a week ago & would have posted it then however I was very ill for awhile & know doing better so I was just trying to give info for whomever wanted it .

Yes that certainly seems to be the case.

Sanders represents one of the highest risk / reward players they could be targeting but I can't see them doing that at the expense of chasing at least one max-level free agent.

On the flipside, they could see Henson as a great compliment to Gasol who would allow them maximum salary flexibility.

And either way Knight and Middleton sure seem to be exactly the kind of guys they'd be targeting now considering their age, contracts, and how their games would mesh with Kobe.

Sanders/Knight for 8 could work out great or blow up in our face. Embiid likely won't fall that far and neither will Exum or Smart. Be picking one of the PF probably. I'm assuming Wiggins at #2 in that scenario. That would leave us with something like Wolters/Wiggins/Giannis/Randle/Henson.

Parker is my dude, but I'd be waaaaaay on board with a Wiggins/Smart defensive backcourt.

I have a feeling we're going to pull it off and get another top 10 pick. I wouldn't have said that a week or two ago, but with the reports of Embiid and Randall's foot issues, the 5-10 picks have somewhat lost value and team's may be more willing to part with their pick.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

I don't know, even if Sanders gets it together elsewhere no one would blame us for bailing on him because of all the problems he's had here.

It would ultimately come down to who we acquire though of course. That's where Hammond's "crush" on a 5-9 level player who would not be a clear fit with Parker (per BuckPack) comes into play.

I don't think we'd like the mystery player Hammond is targeting. Just a gut feeling.

...If Larry Sanders is in a draft day trade so we can acquire Julius Randle, I will become paralyzed with rage. My life will then follow the path of Richard Dreyfuss in 'What About Bob?' and don't mind me I'm just over here in the corner sucking my thumb with my favourite blanket.

But let's just give up Sanders for Julius Randle, who Bogdanovic could shoot over.

ESPN, DX, and nbadraft.net all have Wiggins going #1. Probably means nothing just found that interesting.

The defensive upside of Smart/Wiggins/Giannis/Sanders is hilarious.

FWIW, my gut says Hammond's man cursh in the mid-lottery is Saric.

I'm a huge Exum fan and think his finishing ability and quickness is incredibly legit. But my only worry is his shooting ability. Are there any meaningful statistics that prove how good or poor of a shooter he actually is? Off the top of my head, I seem to remember his FT% not being great.
