Why wouldn't they fit, too much girth on the court? Because Smart is a great all-around defender who can take pressure off Parker defensively in multiple ways, and offensively he's pretty deferential. That's the reality. He just dumped the ball off to a teammate once he passed halfcourt frequently, or just got them the ball in a position to exploit a mismatch. So that works well with Parker and Giannis.

Who questioned Smart's fit with Parker?

I'm saying his comment makes it seem like it would be one of the power forward we're targeting and not Smart.

Yep, seems like it'd have to be a forward. McDermott, Saric, Randle, Gordon. I'd add Vonleh but think you could easily argue he's a C. I would guess Saric. If not him, I'd guess Gordon. Otherwise I'd stop guessing.

Well certainly that could have been an interpretation from what you said in response to Weezy saying he hoped it was Smart.

It was clearer it was the alternatives fit with Parker after seeing BP's quote for the 1st time.

Also, the Sacramento Kings are very open to dealing the eighth pick and have been looking to upgrade over Isaiah Thomas. One potential deal to watch is the New Orleans Pelicans sending Jrue Holiday to the Kings for the pick. The Pelicans have been looking for a pick in the first round and have been shopping Holiday.

That might be better than any of the deals we could propose. It just depends on their view of Henson/Sanders and their motivation to plug a bunch of holes instead of just one. Because we can plug other teams holes among the best of them right now. We've had great role players over the last few years, they just didn't have anyone to play a supporting role to.

If this is available, the Kings would have to really love Larry Sanders to deal with us given the stark contrast between Knight and Holiday.

Perhaps that's possible considering Sanders could cover up for Cousins's defense. But who knows why they'd bank on pairing two players as volatile as that.

I'll say Gordon too. Saric isn't regularly projected from 5-9, McDermott and Randle are more the types you'd be luke warm on, and Vonleh if you had a crush on him you might be able to rationalize he can be a center.

It's Dougy McDermott. Hammond scouted him during the season. My theory anyway. I'd be pretty disappointed if it really happened tho.

For how precisely BuckPack words his posts I'd have to imagine it is no one besides someone out of the Vonleh/Smart/Randle/Gordon group. When he says 5-9 I can't imagine thats a guy like McDermott or Saric who are routinely out of the top 10 in mocks.

Saric was in the 2nd tier in Chad Ford's personnel man consensus. 3 in tier one, 6 in tier two.

That'd be incredible if the Pellies flipped a player they traded two picks for for just one pick. Absolutely incredible.

I never thought about that. That could be explosive.

It would usually work out well if their explosion was toward the other team. Then one of them would still be on the court, unless it leads to another malice at the palace situation.

Obviously its Gordon that Bucks Pack is talking about. Hammond loves the young athletic ones.

If you want to discuss stuff, read the RealCavsFan.com to get their take on who Gilbert might draft at #1 or if he deals the pick. That's where the action is for Bucks fans. See what emanates out of Cleveland.

FWIW, Bill Simmons as of now believes the Cavs are leaning Jabari.

nerlens noel to move up from 10 to 8 basically

i hate how the pelicans are running things. if they didn't luck into anthony davis that franchise would be completely garbage right now.

unfortunately we'll have to watch davis' prime years waste away with them

Yeah, I don't really know what's going on with them right now. People complain about the Bucks FO caring only about PPGZ but the Pelicans might be even worse in that regard.

I don't think #8 for Jrue is that bad in theory, but that may be because I have an inexplicably high opinion of Brian Roberts. The Noel trade was a real head-scratcher, but you don't want to compound the problem by getting too attached to the player you got shafted to acquire.

Jrue Holiday really isn't a PPGz player.

We clearly see that the picks are available, so Hammond needs to figure it out. Be resourceful, think outside the box, be intelligent, be shrewd, just be anything other than what you have been the previous 6 years. Prove to the new owners why you should be given a lifeline. Charm the opposition with your nice guy schtick.

Get both 7 & 8, get them cheaply. I'll be the greedy bastard.

I'd be a little uneasy with all of those trades/picks. Sure this draft class is deep and I'd be all for copping another top 10 pick, but Rome wasn't built in a day and the Bucks won't either.

I don't think using a lot of your trade assets in one draft is all that prudent, especially when you consider guys like Henson are under contract until 2016. If you're going to trade him, why not do it for a 1st rounder in next years draft after his profile will be higher? Why not wait until the trade deadline to deal away Ersan to a desperate playoff contender for a 1st similar to what the Suns did with Gortat and Scola.

The only guys I'd be completely, 100% cool with trading right now would be Knight and Middleton because they have one year left each on their respective deals.
