Edit: I just researched this and figured out that GS could offer Frye $5.3 million a year with 4.5% raises.
Would you offer Frye a long term contract like that?
I think it depends if we can get a major upgrade at the 4 or 3 spot and lose one of our 4 bigs in the process (Kieff, Frye, Plumlee, Len). I don't see much point in re-signing Frye if they are just going to stand pat and develop Len and Plumlee and Kief? Do you want to pay him to keep minutes from those guys? He's at the stage in his career where he should be helping a team in the playoffs make it over the hump, not just get into the playoffs and hopefully to make it out of the 1st round.
If by some chance the Suns trade away Kieff as part of a package to bring in a SF, then I would say re-sign Frye so as not to lose him as a stretch 4 starter. We're the 9th best team in the Western Conference and comprised of mid level talent and young talent. A lot of people on this forum overvalue their favorite players and I sympathize with them but I think we're short one or two players.
