Carlos Boozer possible a Miami Heat?

Post#1 » by twix2500 » Sun Jun 22, 2014 2:04 pm

The Miami Heat if all things go the direction that they want, the Big 3 will all opt out of their contracts and resign long term deals giving around 10 mill in cap space this year. The same strategy that was implement in 2010, so the Heat could keep Haslem and sign Mike Miller. If this happens, Miami will indeed go after Kyle Lowry and hopefully Eric Bledsoe. But a wildcard player will be Carlos Boozer. If Chicago go all out as predicted to sign Carmelo Anthony, then Boozer will likely be amnestied. If he clears waivers, Miami will go after him hard. Miami has made it clear that they wanted him for years. This time around it may pay off. If Miami use much of their cap space on Lowry, then it will rely on where Boozer mind set is. Will he go after the biggest contract or will he take less to win a championship? If Miami fails on their first targets in Lowry, will Miami use that cap space to sign Boozer?

A lot things have to happen in order for Boozer to be an option, but Riley has planned this out and Boozer is on his wish/watch list.

How do you feel about the option of Boozer?

He got benched A LOT in 4th quarters this year so I'm not sure.

I dislike Boozer as a player and hate him as a screaming idiot on the court, but as a cheap option I'd take him as a starter next to Bosh or depth depending on whether or not we land a starting caliber C. Just too talented to pass up if he can be had for the low. He's the type of big that would give us quite a bit of what we've been missing, and he can hit the open mid range jumper as well to space the floor which is an obvious huge plus in our system. Not to mention he's a very good rebounder.

If he signs for the vet min I would welcome him. He lives in Miami in the off season so i'm sure he would at least be interested if amnestied.

Carlos Boozer possible a Miami Heat?

Yeah, if amnestied and looking at a vet min, then I gotta say a big yes. Like in past years , he'll be one of those starts but doesn't finish types.

I think we need another big, a legit C that can play next to either Boozer or Bosh.

I could certainly see a team offering him a mid level type of deal, but considering the circumstances (him residing here) and the question of how badly he wants to win.... I could see him taking the vet minimum. If amnestied he's still gonna get a fat check.

Would be awesome to have the Bulls paying this guy to win a championship here.

Boozer would never make it through the amnesty process unclaimed.

If he gets amnestied there's no way he clears waivers. lol If he clears waivers though he is a resident in Miami and wanted to sign here at one point.

With that said he's not even on Riley's Top 20 watch.

Boozer's terrible on defense and his range only extends to about the same as Haslem's. Maybe he and Haslem can serve as a 1-2 punch at the PF with Lewis and the others on the wings, but like someone said above, he's been benched in favor of Taj Gibson in crunchtime for defensive reasons. If Boozer isn't a good defender in Tom Thibodeau's defensive scheme, I don't see how that can be a strength for him in Miami.

On the other hand, he's still a pretty good rebounder even with decreased minutes. There's nothing wrong with that. But are the rebounds worth something like this?

I'm not sure Michael Beasley was ever this bad/clueless.

NO WAY boozer is a bitch.. disappears in playoffs will never be winner. IF they go big go for Gasol,okafor,hawes,randolph... NOT boozer. Bledsoe, lowry, gasol, ariza and draft a good prospect sign big 3 and their you go... Or bring in Lowry,Melo, Ariza and you win 5x championships... fire spo bot and put Riley back at duty.....

He will absolutely clear waivers.

He sucks on defense. Beasley is better on offense.

But he IS a good rebounder. Il give him that. Vet min sure. Anything else nah.
