It's also well known Lebron wants to play with Bledsoe.
I know we don't have the most appealing package for Lebron right now, but him signing would make some pieces fall pretty quick I believe. We have a lot of picks for leverage.
Thoughts?
It's been talked about plenty, but most think it's a pipe dream. As for his friendship with Bledsoe, I think that is blown out of proportion a bit. He's close to a lot of players in the nba. People claim they are best friends and you mention it's well known he wants to play with Bledsoe, but I've never read either thing anywhere but here.
I know they are close, and LeBron feels like he is a little brother (I've read something along those lines) and I'm sure he wouldn't be opposed to play with him. But being best friends and really wanting to play with him may be taking it out of proportion a bit. I think LeBron would really like to play with Melo or Chris Paul. He is obviously VERY close to those guys.
What Melo does would be interesting. If Melo stays in NY (ultimately I think there is a good chance he does because he seems to value money more than winning....he has mentioned otherwise lately but I'll believe it when I see it), than I think there would be a very good chance LeBron joins him next summer after one more year in Miami.
They COULD both probably go to the Lakers this summer if they wanted, but I haven't heard that at all, and the team would lack depth.
Ultimately, though, THIS summer is interesting for him because none of the options seem great for him, especially if Melo goes to Chicago. Phoenix seems like a good option, but it seems he'd probably prefer to stay in the easier east, and probably play in a bigger market.
What Miami SHOULD do is put Wade on the market (unless he has a no trade clause). I'm not sure if he'd have any takers, but you'd have to assume someone might think it's a good idea. Brooklyn for Joe Johnson? Of course Miami would never put Wade on the market though.
