Championships are team accomplishments. Kobe didn't 3peat by himself. Kobe 3peated playing with one of the best big men ever and a top 8 GOAT in Shaq. Even he couldn't 3peat in 2011 when his supporting cast became more ordinary. Put young LeBron with peak Shaq and they most likely 3peat too.
I guess we're not allowed to give Kobe credit for the 3peat because he played with Shaq but we're going to give Lebron all the credit for the 4 finals run and pretend like he didn't play with 1 superstar (at the time) and all-star of his choosing.
Where did I say in my post that we are not allowed to give Kobe credit? Reading comprehension...
All I said was that championships are team accomplishments and implying that Kobe is better than LeBron because he was able to 3peat with a peak Shaq puts him above LeBron isn't really right. That's just a lazy way of analyzing players and basically saying 5>2.
Kobe is an all-time great in his own right, a top 10 player of all-time but that's absolutely poor analysis.

Basketball is a team sport, if you're going to say well Kobe had Shaq, what do you think i will take you're saying about Kobe? Unless i missed something and Lebron's been going to the finals by himself, i don't even see why you need to bring up that the championship is a "team" accomplishment.

You judge players on their individual play and their contribution to winning. You are creating a strawman in your mind just because I said Kobe played with peak Shaq while they 3peated. That was only in reply to a poster who said Kobe is better than LeBron because he was able to 3peat while LeBron wasn't. As if a player 3peats by himself. I also said that Kobe is an all-time great and a top 10 player of all-time so I don't know what the issue is.
And yes, championships ARE team accomplishments. That's why any sort of 5>2 or he 3peated while LeBron didn't is a poor evaluation of players. The only Finals loss that LeBron deserves blame and criticism for is 2011. In 07/14 his teams were clearly over-matched. I don't want to derail this thread too much since his is the media thread but you are welcome to come to the PC board if you want to have a detailed conversation about this.

When Miami wins back to back chips AGAIN, people will find ways to disparage them. Feeble minded trolls are distracting you PW. Forget them. Heat are juuust fine.

Interesting to see Pop taking jabs at the heat. It was all in good fun I know, but after he was all 'props to the heat and Lebron they are a class act etc' does this show he actually had some resentment for them?
Or am I overthinking things and was this all for the lols
