Pretty good Vonleh video. I really like his shot and his fluidity with the ball.

I'm back to where I was before the injury, just want one of Wiggins, Parker and Embiid, they're now just in a different order. Don't want Exum any more. It's crazy how little thought I'e been giving the 10th pick lately with all this drama regarding Embiid, I never thought I'd just be ignoring a lottery pick like this.

I think Big Sam is going to get a third lotto pick this year or next using a combo of Thad, 2nd rounders and/or salary cap. Can you feel it?

I think it is absolutely possible. If it doesn't happen, there is all opportunity to acquire picks a little later in the first round. We just have so much flexibility with the cap space and 2nd round picks, I'd be surprised if we don't end up with at least 3 first round picks (unless we use some combination of picks to move up to #1).
For the record, I hope we hold on to MCW. He isn't a franchise player, but I really think he can become an allstar type PG in the future and at least increase his value with more consistant and efficient play. I also like the Noel-MCW combo for chemistry reasons. I understand the nba is a business but you can't completely ignore the human aspect of it either. I wouldn't trade him straight up for Smart (even though he might be a bit better prospect), and we will not get the opportunity to straight up swap him for Exum. So I have a hard time seeing a benefit in trading MCW come draft night.

I and 1d your post but I would trade MCW for Smart straight up even though I think both will have all star years during their careers. I like Smart's defense better.
I was also thinking that I would rather have MCW than Jrue as a players even ignoring contracts. I guess I really like Smart.

Re: 2013-2014 College Basketball / '14 NBA Draft Thread
I see MCW and Smart as more or less lateral moves because MCW has actually shown he can play in the NBA. Marcus Smart hasn't. We've seen plenty of college players get billed as being able to be 'this' or 'that' in the NBA and turn into guys who can't even come off a bench and be productive, let alone a full-time starter.
I wouldn't deliberately trade MCW for Smart, but if MCW was the price to make another move possible and then the replacement was Smart I'd be fine with it.

When was the last draft with this many question marks? I never followed as close as this year because we've never been right in the middle of all of it since ive been a fan.

I believe Embiid and Exum has made this draft very complicated.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Could anything pry the 1 from Cleveland without the 3? Like the LAL 7 and our 10 with 32, or still not enough? That's what I'd love to see Hinkie pull off. Grab the 1 without giving up the 3. Take Exum and Wiggins and I'd be ecstatic. I know Jabari will be very good. But Wiggins and/or Exum could be stars, but maybe not both.

David Aldridge has us taking Wiggins at #3 (Exum to the bucks) and Gordon at #10. But his mock is pretty terrible overall. This scenario seemed so much more likely just a few days ago...

The only thing that I know for certain is that if we take Vonleh at #3 than I'll be pissed.

It can be spun as a positive, for sure, but you're right. It would be a huge letdown.

While I'm with both of you, In this draft you can pretty much put a positive upside spin any of the top 6-8 players imo.
While the big "3" are the most highly hyped/coveted, it would not surprise me if someone picked 4-8 in this draft turned out to be the best player in the draft class in 5 years....all the players in the 1st 2 tiers have warts, but also possess qualities and could blossom into very good players with the right luck and development to there games.
I know you can always look at the bright side, and project best case and worst case scenarios with any draft class.
BUT, this draft is pretty unique in that the players in that range all actually posses some upside to be very good players. I would not be shocked if one or 2 of Marcus Smart, Randle, Vonleh, Gordon, etc end up being as good or better than Wiggins Parker or Embiid when its all said and done.
