Really?? In 5 years, we may not have Vuc, Harris, or VO no matter who we draft. I'd worry about the next 2 years.
At #4, I don't think we are getting any player that is going to make a significant difference over another player in the amount of games we win. I'm talking 7+ win difference over another draft pick.
I think if we are going to make a huge leap, it has to come from Harris. He is the closest thing to a legit scorer we'll have the next 2 years. Who ever we draft, will be support players for Harris,AA/VO, Vuc offensively along with Harkless & O'Quinn over that time.

I somewhat agree but I tend to think that at #4 you're going to get a guy with star potential.... Maybe not All star potential but you can get a Monta Ellis/ Mike Conley at #4

In the BS report, a discussion between Simmons and jalen rose about their lottery projections, both were not that high on Vonleh.

Both had us taking Exum at 4 and Stauskas at 12

Surprisingly Rose had some really good insight about what teams should pick and was dead on with rumors/trades that he suggested months before they actually got discussed.

I can agree with that, but who ever we draft is going to be young! Just like it took Conley 4 years to "get it".
I'm just saying our best chance for improvement "right now" comes from the players we have, and Harris is the #1 candidate for that. Exum or Vonleh won't be the answer right away. I look at what Trey Burke and Mason Plumlee did for their teams as the bench marks of what we'll get from Exum/Vonleh next year.

Ever since it popped into my head yesterday, I can't un-see this player comp:

- Upper body size/strength
- Freakish wingspan
- Huge hands
- Face-up game
- Mid-range jumper
- "Black hole" tendencies
- Blocks some shots due to length, but not great on-court awareness

Differences seem to be that Bass is a bit shorter and a bit more of a leaper.

You guys, what if we tanked all year... for Brandon Bass.

Bass was short for a PF and was an average rebounder. Vonleh is big enough to play center and is an awesome rebounder.

I can see the potential in Vonleh. No guarantee he'll get there, but I can see it. If he's solid character-wise, wouldn't surprise me if Hennigan grabs him at #4.

Height:
Vonleh 6"9.5
Bass 6"7.25

Max Vert
Vonleh 37
Bass 33.5

Wigspan
Vonleh 7"4.25
Bass 7"2.5

Just because they have some similar attributes doesnt mean they are going to be the same level of player, those small differences in height and athleticism are what separates a good player like Afflalo from a hall of famer like Kobe.

I am still wondering if Rose leaving Smart out of the lottery was intentional or a mistake...

I am going to assume on accident. In the discussion he had actually forgotten about Aaron Gordon too. Simmons was like, did you forget about Gordon? he was like oh yea, then in that case........

But never the less, one of the better discussions I've heard about the draft.

Yeah that's what I figured, but still not sure because he was pretty harsh on Smart about not being able to play PG...
