It has been reported he is keeping the medicals from some teams, it's just not clear which teams are getting them and which aren't. It wouldn't surprise me if Tellem himself is leaking all this doom-and-gloom medical info, and then only giving the records to the Lakers, who will shockingly take a chance on him at #7 and get their next Hall-of-Famer. I really hate this about the NBA.
Exactly. Why would his agent only release his medicals to Boston and LAL if his medicals were terrible?? This tells me that his medicals are not that bad. If his medicals were terrible, why release them to the two teams that you want to go to??
The draft is all about smokescreens and misdirections. The end game may be to convince higher picks there is nothing seriously wrong, when there is in fact major red flags. The kid gets paid a lot more in the top 5 than at number 6 or 7. So lets say his medical information is crap, his agent then only releases records to the celtics and lakers so that teams in the top 5 get worried that they are passing up on the next Bill Russel or Kareem and draft him without getting his medical info, all while Boston and LA are laughing because someone above them just wasted a pick. If its me, unless I see his medical tests, there is NO WAY I risk drafting him. Lets say he is fine and the agent is just trying desperately to maneuver him to LA or Boston. Well, then do you really want another center who will bolt to LA at the first chance?
