Good value for the 8th pick. MCW gives them a much needed PG.
MCW-Mclemore-Gay-Dwill-Cousins

Jazz:
7th and 8th pick
Julius Randle and Aaron Gordon. How can you say no to that?
Sixers:
5th pick
Magic would most likely pass up Embiid. Sixers would gamble on him. Traded depth for talent.

Exum-Embiid-Noel

alternative is we don't trade with the Jazz and just go get the 7th and 8th to ourselves..

Exum-Wroten-Thad-Randle-Gordon-Noel (lots of depth but going nowhere)

Jazz could say no to that because they don't want 2 PF's? lol...

I don't know. Definitely belongs in the fantasy trade thread. :)

5th for 7th and 8th? That's a great deal. 8th for MCW? That's fair. 7th and cap space for 10th? Meh...

10th and MCW for 5th? Way too much of an overpay.

My bad. Wrong thread.

It's more of.. 10th and MCW for a potential franchise player (none of MCW and 10th pick can reach) in Embiid.

Jazz can't say no to that because it's great value for their pick. And both those PFs would fit well playing with Favors. They were a bit desperate with the Marvin Williams at PF gimmick last season.

I mean....coming out of the draft with Exum and Embiid is definitely special. But that certainly is a lot to give up for it to happen. And then you have an extremely risk situation. At least if nothing else it would ensure another tank year and another good chance at a top 3 pick in 2015. LOL

If Hinkie really wants to move up, I'm thinking the fact that the Cavs have yet to decide on Wiggins or Parker benefits the Sixers. That tells me they don't love either enough to jump out at them and might be more willing to move down than if someone really blew them away, they'd have them clear-cut #1 overall.

Embiid is the only potential franchise pick in this draft

Also, not buying the rumors that the Jazz want to trade up for Wiggins. I think the Cavs are leaking that to make the Sixers jittery. Parker makes way too much sense for Utah if they want to move up.

Damn, I love Wiggins but really dislike McDermoot. I'm down the middle on Smart & like Vonleh quite a bit. I really like Exum & like the value of Randle as our #2 selection. Of course I love Embiid but worried about the injury & I'm probably one of the bigger Stauskas fans too.

I think I go Exum/Randle here, but Embiid/Stauskas is right there too. Wiggins/Doug to follow & then Smart/Vonleh. Although, I'd be pretty happy with any of these hauls come Thursday.

on some silly selfish petty fan ****...

I will be very dissapointed in Hinkie if he lets Orlando trade up to 1 because he didn't want to get rid of 10 (which as or right now seem like it will be McDermott or Stauskas). Both teams are in very similar situations in terms of their rebuild and if Orlando's GM swoops in and takes "our guy", my opinion of Hinkie will lower a bit lol. I think we can match and beat that deal easy...

unless Orlando takes Exum at 1...then I will repent for this moment of doubt.

None of us know who "Hinkie's guy" is. We just have reports to go off, which can be smoke screens.

Even if Wiggins is Hinkie's guy, we don't know how much he likes him versus Exum. It could be close enough not to warrant trading up. Of course if Wiggins is the next Tmac then you throw the kitchen sink at him, but none of us know that. Or anything. None of us have scouted these prospects NEARLY as much as the Sixers front office.

So if they're happy with Exum, and they feel like it's not SETTLING but rather AN EQUALLY VIABLE skill set he brings, then get Exum and run.

It's not even a huge tier gulf anyways; there have been lots of scouts who put Exum arguably as high if not higher than Wiggins.

Fans just get obsessed with the "top prospect" and assume there's an ocean of difference. What makes the 2014 draft is that everyone is good; the 8th pick in this year's draft would have gone #1 last year.

Embiid-Wiggins-Parker-Exum. I'm personally cool with any of the 4. We're not debating Gordon vs. Vonleh here.

We already won. Thursday is just our victory lap.

I've talked myself out of Wiggins. I am hoping we don't trade up for him at #1, or anybody else at 1 for that matter. Let's just stay at 3 and take one of Embiid/Exum and worry about acquiring an additional first round pick. Orlando can overpay if they want to.

The draft can't get here soon enough
I speak the truth.

What don't you like about McDermott? He's not a franchise guy but he can be a solid rolid player for a contender. He reminds me of Mike Miller.

To quote Bill Simmons, "He's a white guy with a big ass."

I worry about what position he is. He's not anywhere near athletic enough to guard 3s, and he's too small to play the 4. He's highest upside IMO is a bench player. Not that we should swing for the fences, but at #10, I want someone with a bit higher upside.

probably the fact that he will give up as many points as he scores....if he can even score like that. The thing about McBuckets is that you wonder if his offensive contributions will be that good and if so how good. Good enough to make up for his defense? Can he be hidden on defense? Who does he guard?

Stauskas is the same but he has a legit position and is bouncier and just a better athlete than Dougie.

i am not as AGIANST him as I was before (mainly because he is the best shooter on the board and if we take Exum and keep MCW..Stauskas makes little sense...and the fact that he hasn't exactly plummetted down the boards so he must be doing alright in workouts)..but the fears are warrented. Also he just isn't a splashy pick.

God, i can't wait for this to be over.

At 3, we are going to be able to choose from TWO of Wiggins, Parker, Exum or Embiid.

TWO

And - in case taking Embiid wigs you out - in all likelihood, we will be able to choose one of either Wiggins or Exum (either of whom i think most of us would be happy with). If anything, I find interesting that in the homestretch, Exum is closing on the field STRONG. Now - be honest - if either BOS or ORL offer the ranch for the #1 pick...and then take Exum, some of you are going to go "oh, *#%?...was I wrong about that guy?"

Sit tight at 3. Hinkie will take the guy on the board that he likes best...and then the Hinkie MAGiC starts.

(personally...I think the guy is Exum...and I am fine with that)
