Not sure what most of you're crying about here.
It was just a dumb play by the Ivory Coast player and even though it was a hard decision, it was the right one.
Also, Greece had more chances during the game, hit the post three times and Ivory Coast never showed that they really wanted it.

This game had nothing to do with other games and fouls.

It was a dumb play by the Ivory Coast player in the last seconds of the game and the own penalty box.
Therefore it was a penalty and the only one to blame is the guy being dumb enough to make that foul.

A standard rule?

Sure there's one and it's called that fouls in the box are penalties, which happened here.

Though, I guess your's is that penalties aren't to be given after the 80th minute, or something...

So, this is your point of view thus-far:

1. Sio didn't mean to.
2. The Ivory Coast threw it away but it was the last minute, therefore the referee should've bailed them out.
3. It wasn't called in the Iran match.

What a game, WHAT A **** GAME. I don't realise it even now what happened.
We play by far our best game in this Mundial even with the two early injuries of Kone (he was our best player so far) and Karnezis (best Greek GK by far). We were unlucky at the start of the 2nd half with the chances that we missed but at the end, well what a finish. I was pretty sure Samaras (the only time in my life that i say GREAT JOB SAMARAS [/political joke]) that he would miss it but thank God, he scored.

If you're talking to me, I have followed the US team since 06 and also follow the Polish squad in their Euro attempts(However feeble they are).
