I'm thinking they are trading with Orlando and Cavs think we are going to take Embiid.

If the Cavs are serious about moving down to 4, they need to cover all bases.

We already know they've worked out Embiid. Now they need to see Exum. They have to be prepared for the Sixers to take Embiid or Exum at 3.

I get a sense Hinkie laying in the weeds playing patient until tomorrow night. Will up his offer if he needs to/push comes to shove.

Can't wait to see if Hinkie gets his man! :)

Steve Kyler ‏@stevekylerNBA 35m

And so it begins. Chatter from NYC... Rodney Hood possible at 9 to Charlotte... McDermott 8 to the Kings if Payton is gone... LaVine at 13

Chris Mannix ‏@ChrisMannixSI 35m

The Lakers, Boston, Charlotte and Orlando have brought Doug McDermott in for individual workouts. Hornets strongly considering him at No. 9.

Hmmm. So if McDermott, Payton and Hood are all gone before 10 and we keep the 10th pick someone will definitely fall to us. Gordon, Randle, or Vonleh. Maybe Smart. A guy or two get picked in the top 10 every year that you are a little surprised by.

I don't get why McDermott is more higher rated than Stauskas

I think that Gordon or Randle will be there.

This is why I wanna keep #10. Awesome value to be had, potentially...

This is true and all 3 of McDermott, Payton and Hood don't have to jump that high, only 1, preferably 2.

It seems like Embiid, Wiggins, Parker, Exum, Smart, and Vonleh are a tier above in projected draft position. They are generally top 6 in some order. Randle or Gordon wouldn't shock me if available at 10.

I would LOVE to grab Gordon or Smart with the 10th pick. 2 future all-stars

The trade wouldn't be made until Orlando picks to see how the draft shakes out. CLE would in essence be drafting for Orlando.

I think by the time the draft clock starts, the top 3 or 4 teams will have an idea where the others are all going based on chatter.

If Hinkie wants Wiggins that badly(and this is what all this trade speculation has spawned from) and he doesn't up his trade up offer, it might mean he thinks he'll fall to 3.

Chris Mannix ‏@ChrisMannixSI 1m
Australian point guard Dante Exum is "in the conversation" for the No. 1 overall pick, source tells SI. Wiggins/Parker still leaders.

I still think he's have to move up, but who knows.

I know that, but if Exum is a guy that actually really want and want to trade down, then they'd have to get in talks with the Sixers just in case, because of the Sixers take him, and moving down is their #1 preferred option, then that falls through.

also I find saying Jordan did it is kinda silly since...well He is Michael Goddam Jordan. Not the best example for others to try to match

People continue to use Yao Ming as an example. He was over 300lbs. Equally silly. Yet a guy like Ilgauskas who was 260 lbs and played 10 seasons after the same injury and only missed 65 over that timeframe. Go figure.

Not sure it was all the same injury but at one point big Z played 29 games over 3 years

Gordon at #10 would be amazing. Smart at #10 would be amazing. The only thing better might be Embiid at #10.

No chance we take (and keep) Randle at #10. Really hoping he's gone before our pick, along with guys like McDermott, Stauskas, Lavine, Hood, Payton, etc. who we wouldn't want.

From his Wiki page:

On January 26, 2000, he had a surgery on a fractured navicular bone in his left foot.

He re-gained the starting center spot for the Cavaliers in 2000–01. He was injured again in December 2000 and was out for the season. The injury dealt a blow to the Cavaliers. After winning 15 out of 23 games with Ilgauskas, they finished with a 30–52 record.

Games played after that: 62, 81, 81, 78, 78, 78, 73, 65, 64, 72

Yeah he had foot issues the two years prior pretty sure. He played 5 games in 99 and no games in 2000

I have to say, after watching the latest Wiggins workout mixtape, I just don't see anything particularly special about him. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up as sort of a bust in his career. I'm fine with Philly not trading up for him.

Here is my latest mock:

1) CLE : Wiggins
2) MIL : Parker
3) PHI : Exum
4) ORL : Smart
5) Utah : Vonleh
6) Boston : McBuckets
7) LAL : Embiid (Traded to PHI for MCW)
8) SAC : Payton
9) CHA : Hood
10) PHI : Stauskas
11) DEN : LaVine
12) ORL : Randle
13) MIN : Gordon
14) PHX : Nurkic
15) ATL : Harris
16) CHI : TJ Warren (traded to PHI with Boozer and 19 for 32, 47, and 52)
17) BOS : Saric (traded to PHI for 19 and 39)

PHI ends the night with Exum at 3, Embiid at 7, Stauskas at 10, Warren at 16 and Saric at 17.
