Simple: Nash + #7 for '16 top 10 protected 1st


Nash likely retires or asks for a buyout, we erase the BG deal for a future pick with better protection. At #7 we'd likely get Smart or Gordon at least and maybe hit the jackpot of Embiid dropping that far.

We need to add Monroe for that trade, and even with this maybe the Lakers would say no.

Why would they want Monroe? The whole point of them doing it would be to play the Lebron + Melo game.

develop the rooks and get a good look at the team next year. And instead of a 1st rounder in 2015, we have cap space to re-sign guys and look at FA's who have actual NBA experience. That's a solid way to build a contender for the season of 2015-16. Realistic or not, that result would make for good watching next season and hope for the future. One notable result is that KCP would be tested with big minutes at SG.
