Funny that the Mavs are trading to get Chandler back.

There goes any chance of moving Jennings to New York

Hopefully they will take back Smith for Bargnani's expiring deal that would be amazing

^Twitter folks had Larkin and two seconds heading to KYK in the trade. The trade as you've reported it makes more sense. Calderon in the triangle makes sense - did Jose leave Detroit because his wife hated the weather/cold after years in Toronto or just didn't want to be here in general?

Calderon left Detroit because Dumars never offered him a deal. He was too busy courting Smoove, so Calderon took the deal Dallas offered him.

I don't think we can dump Jennings or Smith in NY. I don't think the Knicks want to take on any long term salary. They will actually have cap space next summer if they don't do any dumb trades.

I heard Chad Ford saying if golden state gets KLove their next move will dump Barnes or Iggy to go after lebron. I'd be all over either of those but we don't have much to offer these days.

Why would they "dump" barnes, he's on a rookie contract, and if you look at iggy's stats, he might be harder to move than smith.

We wouldnt need to offer much

There arent many teams that have the space and the willingness to take on Iggy's huge contract for pure cap space

We can easily take on: Iggy, Speights, Barnes at 19.3M of salary coming back our way

That would give us a starting 2 (Iggy), starting 3 (Barnes), and a cheap back up in Speights

If they wanted Bynum they can have him but without Bynum they clear almost enough room to sign Lebron

Houston just keeps getting assets. 2015 1st from New Orleans for Asik. This also could eliminate New Orleans from going after Moose. They have their rim protector next to AD now...hmm

Just saw this and was about to mention the same. I don't think they could justify spending money on an offer to Monroe. That being said, I think this helps the Pistons if they're looking to keep Monroe. One less team that was likely to pursue him, perhaps the team most interested.

Dallas got HOSED in that deal. I don't get it AT ALL from their perspective unless Chandler and Melo are super tight BFF's or something.

Pure expiring contract to redo Dumars mistakes next offseason

We can even tank this season, get a high pick, and properly rebuild next year with only KCP, Monroe, Drummond on the books

Come on man, Pistons don't tank. :-?

Morey continuing to do amazing work.

If only he got rid of McHale though. But this makes a good case for Melo and to a much lesser extent, Lebron to come there.

Morey's problem is that he wants a puppet head coach.

Phil Jackson has mind control over Debo. What an awful trade for the Mavs...

Morey does too. A bad trade for NOLA. Last year's NOLA trade was downright turrible.

^Sounds like a decent trade for the Pelicans to me. The future 1st rounder is protected. The Pelicans already have young talent on there team, they just need chemistry.
