Nugget Draft Prediction Thread!

Post#1 » by Powder Blue » Wed Jun 25, 2014 2:04 am

Hi all, since we've got some action in here I think it'd be entertaining if we all post a specific prediction on what the Nuggets will do on Thursday. Winner or closest gets bragging rights! Be interesting to see if anyone can nail it, especially if a trade is involved.

*Edit*..This is mainly for the first round, but you can take a shot at the second if you'd like
*Edit*..I like what you did Skywalker, I'll include what they "should" do as well

With the 11th pick in the 2014 NBA draft the Denver Nuggets (reach and piss us all off) select Dario Saric

With 41 they take Pat Young, C Florida

With 56 they take a SF with a name you can't pronounce

(I tried to build a trade up for Smart but can't see it happening, They should trade with the Bulls and take Young/Ennis, then trade the 2nds with Randolph for cash/future considerations)

What I'd like to see:

11. SG Zach LaVine
41. PG Spencer Dinwiddie
56. C Alex Brown

What I think will happen"

16. Dario Saric
19. James Young
41. Deonte Burton
56. Traded for cash or future 2nd.

11. Elfrid Payton
41. Thanasis Antetokounmpo
56. Traded to Atlanta for 2016 2nd round pick

What I would like to see is the Nuggets trade up and draft Aaron Gordon or Julius Randle and not be afraid to include next years pick as its likely in the 20s.

I'm gonna guess that we stay at #11 and make the logical, yet very boring selection of...

Gary Harris.

No idea about the 2nd round, but I'd be surprised if we make/keep both picks.

11. Trade for a veteran I'm going to be livid about.

41. Spencer Dinwiddie (unlikely, but I can dream)

54. Ioannis Papapetrou

At 11 I bet we take some Euro draft and stash... Coin flip between Saric and Jusuf Nurkic.

Since we are known for pretty poor drafts unless someone falls to us I'm going to go with the out of shape Nurkic.

We'll forget about him soon so no worries.

Who knows what the Nuggets will do, even the guys publishing rumors seem to be very confused on what they are hearing.

What I would like to see happen
Trade down for 16th & 19th
Draft Saric at 16th
Draft Hairston at 19th
draft one of the center prospects with the 41st
Trade the later 2nd and $2 million to some team willing to take Anthony Randolph for a top 59 protected future 2nd rounder, opening up his roster spot.

12 Hours Before draft prediction, assuming we dont trade...

#11 - Nick Stouskas

#41: Jabari Brown

#54 Euro stash we never heard about or trade for $$

I would like to see us make the selection at 11 of Payton/Lavine/Harris. However Im going with a prediction of a pick of Cash considerations.

if stauskas falls id love to pick him up

after that im ok with with lavine (project) or saric (stash in europe)

payton entrigues me.

dont want any part of nurkic and now harris is off my list because of AAA.

i would not be shocked to see the pick sold or traded down, which im firmly against both ideas.

Nate is our backup point guard. We also still have Greene stashed in Europe. PG is the one position I really hope we don't draft.

I could see them taking one of the PFs (Vonleh, Randle, Gordon) if any of them fall. Otherwise I'd be okay with any the SGs we've been talking about for the last couple weeks.

no chance vonleh falls to 11 but id be extremely happy if gordon or randle falls.

or smart for that matter.

Yeah it's probably not very likely, but there always seems to be one 'consensus' top 10 guy that falls.
